Round 4 Results TAC: Enshine - Echoes
As you said, this is some good music. I especially like the guitar melodies, they make a good contrast with the rest of the band that’s delivering a more powerful approach to the song. I would say the instrumental part of the song fits very well together, it’s entertaining and varied. Unfortunately for you I really can’t look the other way when it comes to the growls, at least here, it really kills the song for me which is a shame. There are very few instances in which I can look the other way and it’s usually when the growls are “lighter” so to speak (Devin Townsend, Alcest). Good try though.

Fluffy Lothario: Jeff Buckley - Mojo Pin
This song has a really nice intro, very soothing and slowly growing. I would say this is the exact opposite to that Danzig song I got earlier, I really enjoy the music but I find the singer’s voice to be a little annoying but strangely it’s not always like that, there are some passages of the song where I like how he’s singing and I feel like it fits perfectly buy for the most part I think I would enjoy the song a lot more if it was just an instrumental.

Train of Naught: Sean Ashe - Imagine
This is just a beautiful and relaxing song. I love the mix of acoustic and electric guitars, together they generate a contrast that makes them fit perfectly well. The piano section is also pretty good because again, the contrast in mood with the previous and upcoming sections is just fantastic and let’s face it, I’m a sucker for a good piano. The rhythm section does exactly what it’s supposed to, with some very nice details here and there that really help the song never to get boring. Luckily the guy displays his good technique but not overdoing it.

Tomislav95: Bon Iver - Skinny Love
So, this is Bon Iver. I’ve always seen it labeled as the band douchebag hipsters like so I never paid attention to it but I think I’ll need to change that. I like that this sounds raw, it gives the song a nice edge that goes perfectly well with the anguish the singer seems to be expressing. I like his voice, I like how simple the music is and how well it manages to transmit emotions. Overall a pretty good song.
Score: 7
King Umphrey’s McGee - Hourglass
Nice rocking tune. It’s pretty basic and doesn’t stray too far from a comfortable zone but it still gets the job done. There’s not much else I can say about it.
Score: 6
Big Hath: Tower of Power - Squib Cakes
Nice funky Jazz. I’m usually not a fan of wind instruments but I have to admit that they work very well within this song even when they are leading. Very nice instrumentation overall and a very nice vibe that kept me dancing even when I was sitting. The song loses my attention just a little bit when it slows down, that seems pretty out of place but they manage to pick it up quite nicely so no major harm done.

twosuitsluke NOFX - The Idiots are Taking Over
I usually don’t like punk but this was super fun, especially considering the latest political context. I would normally score something like this a 5 but I liked the little ska section and how suddenly it goes back to full punk.
Score: 6
Elite: Amplifier - Neon
The intro is very nice, I would have liked for them to explore that a little more or at least make the change a little more progressive (not as in more prog rock, but slowly growing). After that the song is pretty standard if you ask me, nothing really interesting or worth coming back for. Sorry.
Score: 4
Sacul: Kashiwa Daisuke - City in the Lake
Who would have thought Sacul would send pretentious music?
All kidding aside, the first 2 minutes of the song are pretty forgettable, right until the strings come in, that’s when everything starts having true coherence and making sense. From that point on there’s a really slow buildup where the piano stands out above the rest. I normally like slow buildups but this one was a tad too slow, not timewise but given the mood it could be quicker. When it picks up it’s a nice Jazzy song but far from your regular Jazz because of the string melodies and assorted arrangements, those add a special touch to it. All that section before the song slows down is very, very good unfortunately I get really bored before and after it even though there’s great music all over this.

Round 5 will be themed. You need to send me a song that will make me smile. It's pretty broad but if your song manages that then you'll get extra points
