earthside are up next and then leprous aww yeee

no I do not have any better thread to post this in

Fuck! I saw that Earthside were supporting them on their US tour the other day, jealous!!

How were they? I'd love to see that line up over here. I'm seeing Leprous in March supporting Devin Townsend but they will likely have a criminally short set as Tesseract are supporting too, above them.
leprous played a crapton of the congregation and i would've liked a bit more from other albums but they were still fun
earthside was fun too, their keyboardist is a hell of a jokester apparently
they had this screen that mostly served to play the guest vocalists performing because obviously they can't have them all there for the concert so pre-recorded videos it is

I like The Congregation but I hope they don't play too much from it when I see them.

Earthside sounds different, how did that work in a live setting? Having the screen with the vocalists? Did it all sync up without a hitch?

Ok, so I've written up tidbits/first impressions for the 11 songs I have so far (just waiting on Parama, not no rush) so will post as soon as I have listened to the last song.

I'm going to try and give at least 5 listens per song but will try to squeeze in more. I'm aiming for results by Tuesday  :tup

Tidbits are incoming. As soon as I've given Parama's song a listen.

Should be within the next 6 hours, I'm at work so I'll have to try and squeeze it in somehow  :justjen

I love how sometimes roulettes make me fall in love with a song I hadn't listened to for a while, currently the case with this song. :metal

I work as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities so every day is a work day  :lol

It's cool though as I get days off in the week and stuff. It's a great job apart from all the goddamn paperwork and red tape that prevents me from doing my job. That's a whole discussion for another time though  :lol

Tasty morsels for you to devour, enjoy.

Has a perfect, dirty feel to the sound which I love.

Has some really cool melodic guitar leads but nothing I haven’t heard before unfortunately.

Nice anthemic chorus, actually gave me goosebumps.

Great build up with an unexpected climax, especially the fact it included an instrument I wasn’t expecting.

Music that is right up my alley but not a particularly structured song, I felt, more a showcase of talent.

I feel it took too long to build and I was initially losing interest but my god was the climax worth it!

Some really groovy bass, this song got me tapping my feet. Lots of cool parts that I felt were held together well in the structure of the song.

Some of the best vocals this round and an overall great energy to the song.

Not too big a fan of the vocals but the guitar sound was great. Kind of standard sounding song for this genre I feel.

Potentially had the best guitar solo of the round but I felt it ended a bit early.

Probably my favourite vocals so far, loved the whole feel of this from the off.

Had some great heavy guitars towards the beginning but I felt it didn’t go where I hoped it would.

The vocals don't feel particularly great nor bad to me but that could be different for others so I'm more confident that it is one of the tidbits that does not mention vocals.

Vocals in my song sound strange, like they are coming from background. But I'm not sure would you not like them because of that. I'm not sure which tidbit could be about my song but I'm not too optimistic :justjen

At this point I don't think anyone should really worry. It was a pretty solid first round. There were about 3 songs that stood out and 2 or 3 that sounded kinda generic. However, this is all based on one listen. I hope to be able to do 5 listens as a minimum but would prefer more if possible  :corn

No 10/10's at this point and the lowest score will probably be a 6 or something. I definitely didn't dislike any of the songs.

Parama waits 1, Sacul waits 2

or Parama waits 2, Sacul waits 3?
