At long last, we have finished all the album survivors and are now in consolations. For anyone who may not be familiar with survivors, this is the round that includes all the third-place finishers and the fourth place finishers on the longer albums, and gives a few of these songs a second chance to compete in finals. My initial set of rules sent the top two songs from this round to finals. But upon further consideration of how many songs are in consolation, I decided to expand it to the top four. That should, if my math is right, give us a solid 36 songs in finals.

____________

Alright, awesome, we're finally here. Granted, this is going to be a very long process. But it's sure to be interesting, as we're now really going to have a lot more controversy over who likes what albums best. That said, my first choice of what to eliminate is pretty easily down to two here. The early 90s is my least favored era, but I really like Run Silent Run Deep and think Judas Be My Guide is perfectly solid. Between the openers of the two early 90s albums, my inclination is to vote for Be Quick or Be Dead... but I may wait to see how things go for the first 24 hours or so.

The Wicker Man
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Judas Be My Guide

Any song from VXI missing, or is it just how it turned out?

Futureal is there.

And my vote goes for Tailgunner.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

Albums with fewer than 10 songs only got one consolation spot. Albums with 10 or more songs got two consolation spots. So VXI could only send one song to consolations. Basically, I tried to apportion consolation spots by percentage of songs on the album, not raw number.

I'll join with the popular consensus and jump on the Tailgunner vote. Have to imagine I'll go for Be Quick next time, though.

Oh, that's right. I just now noticed that most of the 80s albums have one song in the consolation. Thanks for clearing that out. :tup

Interesting how the reunion era is basically untouched so far... the Metallica FINALS, not even the consolations, had in the early stages all the votes in the bottom half (the latter albums), this round has left all the post 2000 songs untouched-  except The Wicker Man, voted by TAC because he didn't notice Tailgunner.

Whoo yeah, Tailgunner.
