Isn't that just outtakes from previous albums though ?

As far as I know it is considered an album. There are new songs. When they released a box with all their studio discography, they also included Coda.

Yeah, your exposure has been bottom of the barrel.  :lol  But still, if Mustaine's voice is what put you off, even their best material probably isn't likely to do it for you.

Getting past his voice wasn't always easy. At least back when they made good music there was something else to grab your attention.

I agree with John.

The Black Crowes
Anthrax
Faith No More

The first Black Crowes album is awesome!!!
I'd take Fistful easily over WCFYA.

Definitely agree on Alice Cooper.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I'd argue Iced Earth. Yeah, Gene Adam is a horrible singer, but if you can get passed him, the album is pretty great. Still, I'd recommend compiling the Days of Purgatory tracks. Even though I prefer To Curse the Sky over Nightmares, you can put the latter on there (since the former wasn't "re-recorded") to make it a complete album, and it fits right in. I'd take the unaltered debut over Dystopia.

I guess I agree with the Radiohead pick, although I might like Pablo Honey more than The King of Limbs now.

Saying LZ is just madness.  Their first is in the convo for their best!

PT is an obvious one; Genesis probably is, too (although I have still never heard the last one, with the different singer).

No way. Rocka Rolla is really good and quite underrated.

I disagree with Opeth and Pink Floyd.

Piper is better than More or Obscured By Clouds or The Final Cut.
Orchid is better than Damnation and Morningrise.

But yea, my opinion.

I don't like Syd Barrett-era Floyd nor do I like his vocals or songwriting much so even the worst of latter day Floyd is going to be more palatable than his psychedelic stuff to me.

As for Orchid, it's the one Opeth album that's just a chore to listen to with all of the endlessly long, pointlessly meandering songs and lack of real transitions. I'm not a big fan of Heritage but at least it's a bit more succinct. :)

Journey

 :o

I have to disagree with this. There are so many incredible moments on that album. The production is terrible, but I've always considered it their second best album just behind Look Into the Future.

Guess it depends which style of Journey is your favorite. While I like the first three records for what they are, they definitely rose to another level (for me) when Steve Perry joined and they went more mainstream.

Led Zeppelin I isn't the worst, I would not consider it the best either but (aside from Coda) Presence and in Through The Outdoor are much weaker.

Opeth could be argued but then I find Heritage worse.

Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

I like a lot of the mainstream stuff as well. It's almost like they were a completely different band after he joined, but there were still some awesome displays of musicianship here and there. Winds of March is the first thing that comes to mind. Such an emotionally powerful song!!! However, when I think back to an album like Raised on Radio (which still has a few cool hooks here and there) I find it difficult to rank higher than an album that has songs like Of a Lifetime, Topaz and In My Lonely Feeling/Conversations.
All of this has happened before and all of this will happen again

Amorphis

Far from the Sun is still worse. I even recall one of the band members retrospectively commenting they maybe should've shelved it, and it indeed is the only album of theirs with a track I cannot finish.

I completely missed him saying Amorphis. The Karelian Isthmus is excellent. It's not as good as Tales From the Thousand Lakes or Elegy, but it certainly trumps some of their later work.

Dream Theater, Symphony X, Tool, Isis, Vanden Plas, Anathema

Color Temple is the bomb, can't agree with that one.

I just discovered this band and Colour Temple offers a lot with a mix of prog and metal with great production.

I've never really heard Karelian Isthmus in its entirety. I sampled some songs and was very underwhelmed. Maybe I should check it out again?

Far From The Sun is a very mediocre record but it got Day Of Your Beliefs which is a beast of a song  :metal :metal :metal

Yes.

It's better than most of the Halford records post-Defenders of the Faith, except for maybe Painkiller.  It spanks the shit out of Turbo.

It's all relative - I don't HATE Piper - but I agree with this in principle.   Except for perhaps Interstellar Overdrive (and only live when Gilmour is playing on it) there is little in that album that touches what came later.   I'm not a big psychedelic guy in the sense of shit like "Candy and a Currant Bun" and "Apples and Oranges".   I don't think "Piper" is necessarily the worst - I would put the studio UmmaGumma there - but it's not even mid-tier for me.

Well I must admit it was more of a question than a statement.  I was a MASSIVE Priest fan growing up, but stopped listening to Priest when Turbo came out, so I really cant answer the question I myself asked.  However, I think that Rocka Rolla was the weakest of all the Priest Albums I heard.  I will take your word for it that there are worse post Defenders and humbly retract my submission.  I beg for your forgiveness.
Oh shit, you're right!

Perhaps Mladen is one of those lucky few who were able to forget that Coda even exists.
