The 2x2 square piece has to be the comedy relief sidekick. The Z shaped one is the sassy girl who is a free spirit and does whatever she wants and gets them into all sorts of trouble.

Best I can come up with is a Human Centipede style horror where a derranged guy obsessed with Tetris kidnaps people and builds a tetris thing out of their mangled corpses.

You know you want it.

Also, a trilogy is not a cinematic universe.  :yarr

Or something along the lines of:  a derranged guy obsessed with Tetris kidnaps people and builds a giant tetris thing with giant shapes that crush the players when they lose, and he forces the kidnapped people to play it.  Sounds like something close to what Criminal Minds would do.  I would see that.
