Well apparently the average human has about 22 square feet of skin, but I'm a pretty small person so I'm probably less sq feet  :P

You got me  :omg:

what are you doing right now?
Ayreon listening sessions and trying to do some studying inbetween (I did one exercise in two hours so not really)

Haken is playing Melkweg thursday 13, join me?
I'm considering going, depends on how much of the show I have to miss due to having to catch a train back to Groningen.

Why the fuck did you choose to live where you do?
Because of study/university. The city is also really great, the atmosphere is really open and friendly mostly. The only downside is that most concerts are in the south of the country  :P

what is your favourite sock to wear?

These ones:

why 'home'?
Because it's a rad song. I dunno, I didn't really think about it for more than 10 seconds.  :P

How high is the guy on the left in your facebook profile picture?  ;D
A little shorter than me I think, just a little, like 1,75-1,80cm / just under 6ft

I didn't think he looks neither particularly tall nor short in the picture though :lol
Okay I read back last page and I feel like a complete idiot now. I wasn't even kidding here, I honestly thought that's what you were asking and thats why I was confused about the question. :lol He was just drunk, he doesn't join in on the weedz

Anyway, time for some questioz..

Which country/countries would you really like to visit in the near future?

Any plans on moving abroad for a few months, or longer? And if so, for what reason?

Ever done any psychedelic drugs? Was there one particular theme that carried on the entire time? Hope this is not too confidential btw

Who is your favourite Ayreon guest vocalist out of all the ones that have ever been featured based on their Ayreon performance?
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

Don't worry, it was a pretty good joke  :rollin

Which country/countries would you really like to visit in the near future?
I would really love to visit both Scandinavia and Australia, they both seem like really beautiful places. Though in the near future they're kind of too expensive for me too visit. This summer I'm probably going to south/east europe with some friends which seems interesting as well I've never traveled that way.

Any plans on moving abroad for a few months, or longer? And if so, for what reason?
I hope to move abroad during the Masters of my study for a few months. It seems like a great learning experience, going to a city where you know no-one, different culture, different university etc.

Ever done any psychedelic drugs? Was there one particular theme that carried on the entire time? Hope this is not too confidential btw

Yes I might have...  ;D I didn't have one particular theme during every experience but the thing that stood out most during one particular trip on a high dose of magic truffles was the feeling of being connected to everything around me.  And just being a really small part of everything not able to truly make a significant impact in the "grand universe". That was quite a good and humbling experience I think.

Who is your favourite Ayreon guest vocalist out of all the ones that have ever been featured based on their Ayreon performance?
I'd say Devin Townsend, his chorus in Pain is probably my favourite Ayreon moment. There are so many great vocalists too chose from though...

both #woke AF

what's your favorite album & song
I really don't know what my favourite album is actually, some of my all time favourites are:
Karnivool - Sound Awake
Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
Pink Floyd- The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Fair to Midland - Fables From A Mayfly: What I Tell You Three Times Is True
Dream Theater- Metropolis pt.2

Sigur Rós - Untitled and The Dear Hunter's Act IV are up there, okay I could go on for a while  :P Perhaps I'll do a top 50 albums sometime, I think I'll have time in the summer

As for my favourite song, I think it's Porcupine Tree - Trains. A recent favourite is Elliott Smith - Between The Bars, thanks Tomislav  :azn:

What makes you happiest in life?

Would you say you are materialistic?

I find it hard to pinpoint one thing that makes me happiest. Music is definitely something that makes me really happy, both listening/discovering music and playing songs on piano and guitar. Having good times with friends, painting and learning more about something that interests me all bring me a lot of joy too :azn:

I would say that I'm not very materialistic as I try to spend my money on experiences, like concerts and going with out friends, as much as possible instead of spending money on objects. (besides music related things) In general I'm not very focussed on having lots of money, I'm living of a pretty tight budget (but not so tight that I have to worry about it) right now and happier than ever before. That might be easier to say now that I'm living of my study finances/loans though.

Having said that, I'm kind of hypocryte because if I ever do have the money and the space I'm going to buy a grand piano. But I'm pretty sure I will be happier when working a job that I'm enjoying instead of the one that's making me a lot of money (even if it allows me to buy a grand piano)

Good questions  :tup

We're pretty similar then. I read an article last year somewhere that people that spend money on experiences instead of material possessions are generally happier. I'd agree, there was a quote saying something like "When you are on your death bed and you look back on your life you will remember the places you've been, the people you met and the good times spent. You won't give a damn about the 50" TV you once owned." Couldn't agree more. That's why I think travelling is such a great way to spend your money and of course going to gigs. It's an experience, you will never relive it but you will always remember it and that's more valuable than possessions.

You will likely be pretty happy if that remains your outlook on life I'd say  :tup

In slightly related matters, have you ever considered owning a campervan?

Not really, I don't even have a driving license yet. :lol It does seem like a great way to travel, but if I ever am going to travel with one I think I'd consider hiring one as doesn't seem like something one uses a lot outside of travelling.

Uh, I almost forgot about this...

Luke, tell us about your username?

Ha! My username.

So about 9 years ago (just over actually) I went to one of my best friends weddings. I was pretty skint at the time so I borrowed a navy suit jacket from my Dad. I had some navy blue trousers so it worked. My friend Ginger Dave noticed that the jacket and trousers didn't quite match and the colours weren't quite the same. He made some quip about me wearing two suits and kept saying "oh, here's two suits Luke" throughout the day (twat  :lol). It just stuck (I kinda liked it, it's my mafia gangster name  :loser:) and I started using it for my Xbox gamer tag. I've used it for quite a few things over the years lol.

What is the secret to growing such majestic beards?

Patience...

I couldn't grow a full beard until about 26, until that point I grew a wide variety of goatee, sideburn, jaw line combos  :lol

I also I heard giving oral sex to women helps  it's done me no harm on the beard front  :tup

I'm the one in the middle-ish with the dodgy, emo haircut. The suits aren't even that obviously different!!

I do have a bit of Scottish in me but my surname is Irish. I don't have an accent at all really, except maybe a bit of southern, farmer "OH-ARRR" twinge. Not a lot though.

That's the thing... I didn't mention it, my mate spotted it without me saying a word.

There are lots of beautiful places, I actually love the town I live in, Stroud. It's at the heart of the cotswolds and is a really liberal, hippy town. Lots of creative types live here.

I love Bristol or London for the city lifestyle. There are too many beautiful coastal spots down in the south west.

Yea, me and girlfriend are currently saving money. We haven't 100% made our mind up whether we want to just buy a house or go travelling. At this point we're just saving and not putting a label on it. I am going to be proposing to her this year as well and have bought a ring   my main goal in life is just to be happy and I'm pretty sure I'm succeeding at that because I know what brings me happiness. I'd like to try and live in a more ecofriendly way and make some changes to the way I live.

I am desperate to own a campervan and will be buying one as soon as I can, I just love them and the freedom they bring

Why do I always read your username as twoslutsluke?

Pretty accurate for me to slut it up on occasions.
