Now that's intriguing. Do you remember specific things? Any things that seemed out of place?

No, nothing out of place. I just realized that some of the visions were ones I had when I was younger. And my grandfather's presence was all encompassing. I've never glorified it as a near death experience. Probably a bad trip.. But I've often wondered WTF was happening.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

That's why I love lucid dreaming. One's state of awareness is so tangible and at the same time abstract. I've had some really lifelike dreams, but you can ask me about that next week.  :lol

So one little TACbit before my week is up. DT related...kind of.

I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts called Mattapoisett. It's on the water near Cape Cod. The next town over was a town called Fairhaven. It's where some of my best friends lived and have many teenage memories there.
Anyway, on the Astonishing map of the Great Northern Empire, there is a place called Idlehaven, in the same spot where Fairhaven is located.

Another reference to an actual geographical location. Nice.

Hey, Prog Snob, it's you this week.
How did you discover DT?

It was late 1992 and I was listening to a local college radio station - Seton Hall's WSOU. Pull Me Under came on the radio and the song was unlike anything I'd ever heard before. A few days later I saw the video on MTV. A friend of mine had the full album so we listened to it and I was blown away. I eventually bought my own copy.

Why are you a snob?

It's more tongue in cheek than anything. I listen to so many different kinds of music that, even though prog is my favorite, I could hardly be called a prog snob. I'm more of a music snob in general.

If you could be one character from Middle Earth, who would it be?

OOoooh, good question. It's actually a hard question, though. I love the simple and serene lives of the hobbits, so naturally Bilbo comes to mind. I love the landscapes of Rivendell and the tree-dwellers of Lothlorien. I couldn't be a dwarf. I'm too claustrophobic. Aragorn has always been my favorite character, though, so I would wind up picking him. However, I'd also love to be Tom Bombadil so I could know what the fuck he is.  :lol

First one I ever bought on my own was Manowar's Kings of Metal. However, when I was 8 years old, for Xmas my parents got me the cassette version of Ozzy's Bark at the Moon and Twisted Sister's Stay Hungry. Those two were the first albums I never had.

WTF is Middle Earth?

Those are two awesome albums that still hold up today. My father was cool about me and music, but he was not cool with Ozzy.
Even though it's because of him that I became aware of Ozzy. But I've told that story many times.

I messaged him airing my grievances in regards to him stealing my name. Obviously it didn't change much and I fought so hard not to destroy the page. I fight hard to curb those old urges of mine.

All of that embitterment aside, it's a nifty page.

Beth Riesgraf from Leverage. What a brilliant and fun show. I went through five seasons in a couple of weeks. It's like almost every episode is an Ocean's 11 plot. I'm so disappointed that they cancelled it.

I took a photo of my glass filled with wine and put it on Instragram. In the background is my laptop's wallpaper which is this photo of her. I tagged her Instagram account and she responded with a happy face and wine glass. My life is complete.

Were you born and raised in Staten Island? If not, how did you arrive there?

Can you tell me 3 things you like about Staten Island?  I'm a lifelong NYer and I know so little about this boro. The only thing I've ever done there is golf at La Tourette.

What are your top 5 bands?

What are your top 5 albums?

What do you do for a living?

I was born in Brooklyn, but moved to Staten Island when I was 2.

1) The vast amount of wooded areas. 2) I love that it's the quietest of the boroughs. 3) The hidden and haunted history.

Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Rush, Marillion, Anathema

Images and Words, Dark Side of the Moon, Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, Mozart's Don Giovanni, Bobby Darin's That's All

I am a network engineer/computer specialist for New York City Transit.

Where in NY are you from?

Rumple, Bumple isn’t here.
Rumple, Bumple gone, my dear.

Prog, what are your favorite places to eat at in NYC?

There are so many places that I love. There's a pizzeria down the street from my job called Pizzetta. It's one of the best pizzerias I've ever been to.  Patsy's is a NYC staple. Del Posto is really amazing. Kura and 15 East are awesome sushi places. Nucci's here on Staten Island makes a great antipasti salad. I could go on.  :lol

Funny: Boxers or briefs and why?

Serious: Has having a daughter changed your perspective on relationships?

Minga.   You are making me hungry.

Funny: Boxers or briefs and why?

Serious: Has having a daughter changed your perspective on relationships?

Neither.  ;)

Having a daughter has changed a lot, but it hasn't changed my perspective on relationships as I've always had an old-fashioned mentality with that. I've never been the type of man who would intentionally disrespect a woman or use her or play games. It's just not my style.

Prog Snob, which songs by John Myung is your favorite? John Petrucci? Labrie? Portnoy?

Do you play any instruments?

Who do you think is the worst president of the U.S?

Myung - Learning to Live
Petrucci - Metropolis
LaBrie - Blind Faith
Portnoy - A Change of Seasons

I've been playing guitar for about 30 years. I don't play that much anymore, though. It has taken a back seat to other things.

Worst President? Obama. If you want to know why, open a thread in the political forum.  ;)

Do you ever come visit LA?

I've never been there. I've only been to California once, and it was to meet a girl.

Where in NY are you from?

I was born in Manhattan but grew up in Queens/Nassau.  Bounced around these different towns:  Jackson Heights, Flushing, New Hyde Park, Bayside, Great Neck (which is were I am now).

What are the things that stand between you and complete happiness?

If you could send a message to the entire world, what would you say in 30 seconds?

If today was the last day of your life, what would you want to do?

If you could ask a single person one question, and they had to answer truthfully, who and what would you ask?

Are you holding onto something that you need to let go of? What’s stopping you?
