Anyone still doing the Minecraft thing?
« on: June 16, 2016, 09:45:11 PM »
I just rented a realm if anyone's interested. Working on a castle with my roomie, in creative mode.
Listen! Do you smell something?

I tried Minecraft once for about an hour. I know if I ever sat down and tried to do something semi-awesome, I'd never put it down.

My daughter is a huge fan.

That's all I've got.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Building a large palace from the stuff I'm writing. Also in creative mode. I think it's really fun, but yeah, quite time consuming.

My friends and I are close to opening our server after 6-7 months of world building. We've taken a couple months for various reasons but we should be jumping back to it soon. I'll post some screenshots when I remember.

Some shots from the server. Keep in mind that this was done in creative but we still use vanilla MC so we have a ton of shopkeepers, NPCs, and quests that were coded in using command blocks. This is only a small percentage of what's available. Each area has lots of interior space/shops and a TON of backstory that is written into NPC dialogue. There are a lot of other areas that I don't have good screenshots for.

Approach to Cazedral, the main city in our server

Front gate

Inside the gate

Lower level district know as Crater

Square in the rich district known as Halo

Sunset behind the hotel and transit hub (yes we have working teleporters)

Inside of the hotel and transit hub

Fighting Dojo, personally my favorite thing I've built aesthetically

Rumfer, the wild west town

Murkwood, my Riften inspired town for you Skyrim players

Flying through the very early stages of Dragonview, a city that hangs below the cliffs

I haven't touched MC since I got into WoW :lol

I was obsessed with Minecraft from Alpha all the way up till the release of 1.0. Then I started to kinda lose interest (and time). I have found memories of of my ex, her younger sister, and myself sitting up till 5am many many nights working on a city we built on a Reddit server my brother was a mod for.
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Oh man if only you could give him an end dragon brain so he could wreck a city. Nice work!

Orcus, that city looks amazing.  I don't have the patience to do something like that, but that's so sick.
