An old classic ::) I'll begin.

3) Mikael Åkerfeldt - Opeth, Bloodbath
4) J. Loren Wince - Hurt
5) James LaBrie - Dream Theater, Winter Rose
6) Jørn Lande - Solo, Masterplan, Avantasia, Ayreon
7) Jon Oliva - Savatage, Jon Oliva's Pain
8) Russel Allen - Symphony X
9) Roy Khan - Kamelot
10) Geoff Tate - Queensrÿche

Honorable mentions: Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Claudio Sanchez (Coheed & Cambria), Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour), Rody Walker (Protest The Hero), Matt Barlow (Iced Earth), James Hetfield (Metallica), Phil Anselmo (Pantera)

The band James LaBrie was with before Dream Theater.

Anyway, in no particular order (and I'm lazy, so I'm just going to list one band per singer in case someone doesn't know what they're from);

James LaBrie (Dream Theater)
Geddy Lee (Rush)
Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters)
Neal Morse (Transatlantic)
Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica)
Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden)
David Gilmour (Pink Floyd)
Annette Olzon (Nightwish)
Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth, clean vocals only)

Matt Barlow (Iced Earth) - overall amazingness
Tobias Schammet (Edguy) - favorite power metal vocalist
Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth, Bloodbath) - best growl/sing combo
Freddie Mercury (Queen) - no reason needed
Dustin Kensrue (Thrice) - i love his voice, especially how much better it has gotten over the years
Anders Friden (In Flames) - while not the best voice, his style and use of whispers/screams is a big part of in flames
Maynard James Keenan (Tool) - it wouldn't be tool without maynard
Devin Townsend (SYL, DTB, Steve Vai) - great voice and great variety from scream to clean
Chuck Billy (Testament) - best thrash vocalist
Rody Walker (Protest the Hero) - crazy mofo, great style, keeps things interesting and manages to keep up with the band
My Soundclick Page

I can just sense Gwii hiding in the bushes with a knife between his teeth.

No particular order

James La Brie
Peter Gabriel
Eddie Vedder
Natalie Merchant
David Gray
Ray Alder
(young) Geoff Tate
Steve Perry (cheesey, but the guy's got pipes)
Robert Plant
Ed Kowalczyk

I'd put Bono and Yorke up there, but the charm of their voices, for me, rests primarily in how perfectly they fit the music. It's difficult to think about them outside of the soundscapes their voices work within...

I also love Karan Casey and Deirdre Scanlan's vocals (Solas is a favorite band)
—No, continued Aunt Kate, she wouldn't be said or led by anyone, slaving there in that choir night and day, night and day. Six o'clock on Christmas morning! And all for what?
—Well, isn't it for the honour of God, Aunt Kate? asked Mary Jane, twisting round on the piano-stool and smiling.
Aunt Kate turned fiercely on her niece and said:
—I know all about the honour of God, Mary Jane

Not many women listed. Whats up with that ?

I think mainly because most of the music people on this board listen to is generally sung by men, or at least lends itself to male voices. I personally don't like female singers in metal, but I listed a couple from other genres whose voices I do like.

No, but look at any thread of people's favourite bands/artists and they are generally rock/metal bands, which are usually fronted by men. It's only natural that most of their favourite vocalists will be from these bands. That's why there are few women in this thread.

That's why I almost put him on my list.  His voice is pretty average and his actual singing ability isn't anything remarkable, either, but DAMN if he isn't fun to listen to.
