Indeed, not that I dislike it or anything but it's inferior to the debut album and also there's no Bruce. (One could say that Fear of the Dark rarely has the Bruce we all know and love however...)

I get why people don't like it: Blaze's voice isn't for everyone, and it's the misfit among Maiden albums—it's easily the most un-Maiden-ish Maiden album. But I think if you look at its level of quality as an album free from any expectations of what an Iron Maiden album should be, it's hard not to see it as a quality record.

I'm really curious to see what happens after Fear and X Factor are gone because the modern era seems to be very much liked here in DTF. If they don't vote for that, it only rests the classic era stuff.

It's quality without Bruce, just dark. Also a pretty big foundation for the type of music IM created during the Reunion era, The X-Factor isn't so different musically than a lot of what we've seen on the last few albums.
