What's your fave shop? I'm partial to Record Shop X.

Mostly Amazon, otherwise from individual record labels or the official store for a band.

I never really bought CD's on online websites because shipping to my country was always incredibly expensive, or if it was from something local, the prices were ridiculously high. But ever since I've seen Parama spam importcds I checked it out and the prices are very low for some CD's (talking less than 5 euro's for some of the CD's I was looking for here). So I'll be buying most of it from there from now on probably.

I've always bought from Amazon, since they always have good deals on used albums. I also buy from Laser's Edge.

If you're looking for some rare items, eil.com is a good place to look, as is MusicStack and Discogs.

Yeah, this.

Just checked out that ImportCDs site, added some items to the cart, went to the shipping options and didn't find my country in there. No ImportCDs for me! :lol

Almost completely from Amazon, sometimes from artist's websites/stores.
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

Amazon UK - pretty good prices and low shipping to Australia, specially vinyl.
Nuclear Blast - they carry a lot of exclusive releases from their own artists, but the flat 28 Euro shipping to AU is killer.
Ebay - for a few older releases that I have missed.

But I have  a local shop that I have been a customer of 30 years, Utopia Records, so I do try and support them and buy in person when I can.

Amazon for physical CD's; iTunes for digital download.  Occasionally from the artists directly.

I always prefer to buy 'em directly when at a show, so I know all the coin is going directly to the band/label, rather than distributors.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad

I try to buy at record/music stores locally or on trips, but when I buy online, I try and buy directly from the artist per their website/bandcamp/crowd funding preorder or at the merch table at shows.

Otherwise, the usual suspects of Amazon marketplace, Ebay, Discogs.com and in some rare cases MusicStack, CDandLP and the-late Gemm.com.

I usually try togo tthroughtthe artist or through bandcamp since the artist gets a good deal through them. If not, Amazon.

Pretty much exclusively Amazon, as it's very reliable, you get autorip, and Prime next day delivery. (EDIT: Oh yeah, or bandcamp for quite a lot of digital purchases)

I've never order direct from a record label or other places like Burning Shed, and with the number of people that have had problems doing that, I don't plan to start now.

I pretty much exclusively buy records. It's never just one store, since I like lots of artists who are on smaller labels that either do their own distro or only supply other independent distros. Some common ones beyond those, though:

Nuclear Blast
Relapse
Northern Volume (good for some Canadian stuff so I don't have to deal with the horrible dollar exchange rate)
Burning Shed

and obviously Discogs.

I have an Amazon.com prime account so I buy mostly from there.  I don't buy physical anymore except for just a few bands.

If I buy records online, it's almost always off Ebay. Otherwise, I try to support the local record shops.

eBay
Amazon
Direct from the artist
Best Buy

I buy almost exclusively used, unless there is a promo or exclusive (which is why Best Buy is up there).   I'm all about cheap, except as regards buying through the artist (though some gouge; I'm willing to pay a slight premium, as I understand they don't have the distribution as a big organization, but I don't want to be taken advantage of.  It's not my fault the business model is flawed.)

Amazon and direct from the artist.

I use Record Shop X the most, because I can pick up my orders at the local store and avoid the postage costs. I also buy CDs from Swamp Music (I think the website is only available in Finnish, though they ship outside Finland as well), CDON and EMP. I rarely order from anywhere else, unless I'm participating in a pledge campaign or buying directly from the band.
