Romeo,Romeo.........where art thou drummer  ;D

He does get a drummer in Tim but other than that it's the one guy writing, singing, guitaring, bassing.

And that Discogs link isn't live Parama ("no longer available" when you click on the Buy link).

Outline in Color - Jury of Wolves.

Not my first listen to this, but it's such a great album. The genre is "Melodic Trancecore" (basically Melodic Metalcore with added synths and electronic elements) overall, but it's a concept album with a lot of varied influences from pop punk to a little bit of indie and alternative. There are little moments here and there that remind me of The Dear Hunter, but it's not hugely similar. Strongly recommend!

I think I paid him 8 or 9 dollars via Paypal and got the files in 5 mins.   Just messaged him via the Facebook page. My fake/dormant Facebook profile comes in handy occasionally for things like this :lol

Sampled a couple of tracks from the new one and was massively underwhelmed. I just can’t listen to drums going ten to the dozen all the time. 🙉

ABBA - Arrival

ABBA was one of those bands that I never knew I needed in my life until I listened to them for the first time. Their music is so consistently fantastic, I love it.

Decided I needed a break from prog metal, so I decided to dig up these albums from my collection (which I got way back in 2013).

Dreaming Out Loud - Starts out fine, but gets REALLY boring towards the end when everything starts to blend together. I think because every song tries to be either the most climatic song ever or the most empty, calm song ever, it just messes with the pacing after a while. I still love Tyrant though.  :|

Waking Up - Every bit as awesome as I remembered it. It fixes most of the issues I had with the debut & it makes even the most calm & empty-sounding songs catchy & enjoyable, & rather than the debut where you're waiting for it to end, this one is over before you even realise. & that's not even mentioning the epic "Missing Persons" & the title track. I'd still recommend this one to this day. It gud.  :tup

Native - This is terrible. If I Lose Myself is a decent track, but everything else just reeks of either this forced-positivity bullshit (Feel Again, I Lived) or it's so confused & all over the place that it can't establish any real tone (Light It Up, Can't Stop). I couldn't even finish this one, it was so disappointing from an album I used to really enjoy when it came out.

I still haven't checked the new one out because I hated the singles. I might do that later though, just out of sheer curiosity.

i need to catch up on these woops

amenra: pretty solid post-metal, i think it's a bit underwritten at times but i really like the third main track a lot and there's some good stuff in all the tracks in general. not a favorite or anything but it's enjoyable enough
kaddisfly: this, however, is a favorite. damn. i knew this would be good and it... basically just lived up to my expectations. it's just a much better el cielo. i will continue to repeat that. via rail and forest are both amazing tracks and there's a lot of good to great tracks here besides, only like one or two tracks i'm not huge on but nothing bad at all. but yeah. good concept, booklet here is really nice especially, good music, what more can you ask for
pallbearer: i really, genuinely love the last track here but the rest of the album is just... ehh. i've been listening to it for like a month now and still couldn't tell you much about the rest of the tracks here. it's even weaker than the latest elder, which i was also not a huge fan of, but ehh, this style just isn't really for me i guess. still, one great song at least, i guess

exist: this might genuinely be better than their 2017 album, which i already like a lot. the biggest roadblock is that vessel is notably weak & kills the moment of the album but the other 6 tracks are rad as hell with just, so many creative and interesting instrumental moments & the album flows so well besides, i literally have no clue what vessel is doing on this album, it doesn't belong and is really dull compared to the rest of this good god damn prog metal music. sheesh. like okay no one song blows me away but they're all setting a pretty high bar and keeping me engaged, except this one track. bleh
hypno5e: i got exactly what i expected here. every track is better than the last except maybe the first two are about on the same level. the first two tracks? okay. third track? pretty good? last two tracks? great. i think the less metal they get the more i like them, obviously, but there's some good metal moments here (mostly relegated to tracks 3 onward - see my point). i wouldn't call it a favorite album but i like it, yeah. more than the one song i got in my roulette would've led me to believe
oddland: this album has some good songs and then some songs that get lost in the shuffle, and some notably weak songwriting moments (the one slower song that breaks into this crazy prog bit near the end and then just goes back to the chorus after is laughable, i think it's track 5). it's a good style in general but it's not grabbing my interest as strongly as exist (and, spoiler, adimiron which i'll talk about more next week). but it's still pretty good prog metal regardless, yeah. iirc ire was the best track between both of their albums (and it is, really good) but i think i liked origin more on the whole so we'll see when i get to spinning that in a few weeks

Dvne - Asheran

It's good overall, has a nice Mastodon-vibe to it which I enjoy. I don't think it's an amazing album, but it's pretty solid. It's almost over, so I'm planning on mixing it up a little and continue exploring Aphex Twin's monstrous discography. I listened to the first Select Ambient Works album and it was fantastic, so I'm thinking of just moving on to the second one but it's 2 hours long which is a little daunting.
