Black Sabbath- The Eternal Idol

Fucking great album.

Was listening to the deluxe edition.  It is a great album and the Ray Gillen demos are awesome as well.

Even scarier than Devil Doll? :P

I've been listening to Bohren quite a lot lately, I think I'm starting to fall in love with their music.

Relistened to Sieges Even and Marketa Irglova since I really liked those albums in my first listen, and I'm going to keep them in this upcoming week rotation; and also getting further into Redemption with The Origins of Ruin - damn, this one could be even better than Snowfall, love it so far.

The evening playlist is latest Evergrey and two TAC-influenced albums by Enbound and Dead Lord.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Snowfall was the first one I heard so I think it will always be my favorite but I think they, apart from debut, have perfect discography.

So many good tracks on The Origins on Ruin, wow. Bleed Me Dry, the sequence of Memory and the title track (which is just gorgeous), The Death of Faith and Reason and of course the closer. I'm blown away by how great both this one and Snowfall are. Incredible.

Okay, I'll be the weird one...

"They want to qualify their boys for jobs in the modern world. You can hardly blame them, can you?"
"Oh yes," said Scott-King. "I can and do." [...]
"If you approve, headmaster, I will stay as I am here as long as any boy wants to read the classics. I think it would be very wicked indeed to do anything to fit a boy for the modern world."

last week's greatest hits

beyond the bridge: this is actually quite good, especially the entire back half. the climax of struggle, pretty much all of the difference is human, both ballads are pretty great too and the instrumental is pretty strong, i wanna listen to this more
moonsorrow: not like, particularly unique in any way, just well-made folky black metal. have had a little trouble getting into this one tbh but i do enjoy it
thrice: i mean, gripes about the lyrics aside this is fine. it's fairly diverse though there are a few throwaway tracks, and it's still way better than muse's drones too, so

Listening to this right now. I definitely agree, this is a good one. I really like the second ballad, Where the Earth and Sky Meet, and of course a lot of these big climactic songs like Doorway to Salvation and All A Man Can Do.

^Awesome. Fucking. Album.
You know, despite having received The Canyon Behind her in my first roulette and given it a 4.5/5, rarely spun that album. Did that today, and it just clicked with me. Wow.

That was similar to my introduction to them. Someone played the album once and I was hooked. That doesn't happen with many albums.
