Never a bad choice. I pulled this out recently. So great!
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

From the ocean comes the notion that the realise lies in rhythm. The rhythm of vision is dancer, and when you dance you´re always on the one. From the looking comes to see, wondrous realise real eyes....

If this had better production (especially the drums) this would be bloody fantastic. It's still good music, just hard to listen to at times because the bad drum sound hits me in the face and distracts me a lot. The Roots album is much better sounding.

I really like it. Nothing like their old stuff of course. Quite 70s sounding but modern too. Well worth a listen.

New Hotelier is hitting me hard right now, AOTY contender. Though I guess it won't matter that much since Swans is out soon and that is confirmed for AOTY.  :hat

Somewhere Along the Highway and Salvation are definitely their best albums! As much as I liked Vertikal, I would probably say it's their second weakest album with only the debut being weaker. I prefer all the other albums actually.

Ok then.. stealing this

Awesome. I think post-metal in general is really growing on me, Thirtyfour and Finland were my favorites probably.

Today+yesterday

Opacities being the first taste I really got of SikTh, it wasn't nearly as weird/crazy as people made this band out to be, but listening to The Trees Are Dead & Dried Out Wait For Something Wild I take back my words. Good stuff though. Maybe this is my descent into insanity?

I'm convinced that God Is An Astronaut is the perfect background music, I can thoroughly enjoy the albums without actively focusing on it, it's the best thing ever. Slowly becoming one of my favorite bands too right now. :tup 425

(bottom right) been speaking to this guy that released his debut solo album, fully recorded and mixed by himself. It's kind of an avant-garde/jazz fusion type of sound, I think he said he was influenced by Kayo Dot and Miles Davis among others but I'm not really familiar with their music so I wouldn't know for sure.

the followup chapters:

Dysrhythmia: tbh I wasn't super hyped for this anyways and yeeeah it's kind of... really boring and lifeless. the instrumentation is way too bare and the compositions feel like barely-structured jams that never go anywhere. pretty mediocre/maybe a bit bad lol oh well
Ihsahn: damn, saxophone makes everything better. but i actually like this quite a bit, most likely the only of these i'll really keep listening to
Jesu: this is. so long. and so tedious. every track is too long. the album as a whole is too long. it's not even that crushingly heavy, it tries to be i guess but. meh. it still sounds alright overall but it's a slog to listen through
Speaking to Stones: these are like, 5 good 6-8 prog metal songs stretched out to 9-14 minutes. the two longest ones especially feel too long, repeating their choruses and main riffs a bit too much, and the soloing on this album is pretty generally dire. but overall it's passable enough
