Probably a bit too much Radiohead worship at times, but still an excellent record.

I could never get into that album, I'll try again soon.

I enjoyed it a bit more this time than usual, maybe listening to the remastered version helped notice some details I'd missed before  :P

Revisiting some Bjork.

Post has some fillers but it's great nonetheless. Especially Hyper Ballad, I Miss You and Isobel makes up for it.

Homogenic though... what a record. Not a single song i dislike in it.

Now, into Debut and Vespertine.

Ugh, I can't really get into her music - there's something about her vocals that ain't my cuppa tea at all.

I understand. Her voice/accent can be annoying sometimes. If the music is good though, i can stand them.

i am listening to this right now

which is probably the closest i've ever gotten to listening to something that's not music and actually enjoying it
so yeah, maybe

side-note: i'm pretty sure this isn't made for any audience and i'm not sure i actually like it, but i'm tempted to throw money at them for it (like $5 i guess even tho technically it can be a free download) because it's just kind of fascinating

like... this album wants to freaking marry chaos and dissonance as a concept, but it does so in a tasteful way? maybe it's a bit overindulgent but. i dunno. it's hard to know. only one of two things can happen; either i get this and it never clicks for me and i end up hating it, or i listen to it about 30 times and praise it as the best thing to ever happen to music.

Probably a bit too much Radiohead worship at times, but still an excellent record.
I thought the first three tracks on this were brilliant. After that, it's a one way ticket to Averageville.

Speaking of Averageville,

How is it? I have not enjoyed them with the same fervency since Neal left. I'm not saying I don't enjoy the music at all. I just don't get as excited as I used to by their music.

The last 2 with Ted Leonard are very good.  Live they are amazing.  I'm seeing them again in 9 days.

Edit.  My favorite tune from the album.

Well, the second half ain't as strong as the first one imo, but dunno if I'd call it Averageville, maybe Goodtown :P

You know, revising DCD's discography is leading me to believe none of their records I'll like as much than Anastasis. They just don't have the same emotional impact imo.

honestly soldier might be the best song here, but more on its own strengths rather than the weaknesses of the rest of the songs
the first few minutes of in hell's name are the best part of the album, if the rest of the song was that good it'd be one of my favorite songs ever
honestly i like this a fair bit though, one of the better albums from my last (huge) bunch

Hm, they are definitely pretty good albums but, Homogenic aside, i always feel there's a couple songs that i don't care for and give me the urge to skip in any of her albums.

Silver lining is, the high points are always fantastic.
