Some cool 2018 albums here!

Greyhaven - Empty Black: Awesome blend between alternative metal, metalcore and math/prog metal. Lots of Protest the Hero, Dillinger and Hirsch Effekt hints, the vocals have a lot of PtH/TDEP flairs and the guitar tone sounds notably similar to THE at times.

thebandknives - Knives: Most people would probably hate this. Sounds like Rage Against the Machine and a bit of At The Drive-In, but done in a modern way, pretty cool but the vocals are very hip-hop influenced so probably not the most DTF-ish

That was after one listen, hope I'm still as impressed today when I listen to it more

Album on the left sounds pretty pelagial, but also good

The one on the right is an amazing debut by a band from my city, would probably categorize it as a modern progmetal version of Meshuggah. They don't sound very similar to Meshuggah but you can definitely tell they got a lot of influence from them. Super impressed by these guys and looking forward to their release show next month!

JT rocks so much more on the live albums.  I saw this tour in Nashville in the late seventies. I remember the girl I went with and what we were drinking(vodka and orange juice), but now I sometimes forget why I walk into a room.

I prefer Jethro on studio. The only live album I think it's fantastic is the Live at the Isle of Wight 1970. There they really rock.
