dreadnought - probably ranks between their first two albums for me. i kind of wish these guys would try writing more compact songs instead of these long meandering pieces that fade in and out of being interesting. though i will say the last track is one of their better long tracks & the opener is solid too. it doesn't really feel like they're doing much new here either, just adding a bit of heaviness to the bridging realms sound but not otherwise changing much? i think the vocals have more presence here than their previous albums too. i enjoy it but it's hard to get really into it.
enslaved - ooh yeah this is good stuff. dunno if i like it quite as much as riitiir but it's close. hiindsiight is song of the year, and storm son and sacred horse are pretty great too, really the only track that's a bit meh is track 5, just feels... off. but no yeah this didn't disappoint, not gonna be my aoty but i'll def be revisiting it plenty, moreso than the other enslaved album i got earlier this year tbh. i need to check out in times for sure
ne obliviscaris - this is fine enough but honestly it feels like a NeO album on autopilot. they're not pushing any boundaries, they're not doing anything fresh, they're just doing what they did on citadel, but.... not any different. not as good either but there's just a base level of enjoyment you're gonna get from a NeO album and it's definitely pleasant enough to listen to. intra venus is probably the best track though lol
