Working my way through my giant Spotify playlist, of albums I need to check out, and I got to this:

So I checked out Land Animal earlier this year but was pretty unimpressed. This is really striking a chord with me. I didn't really have high hopes but I might listen to this again as soon as I'm done. This might even be an album that me and my girlfriend both enjoy  :lol

Didn't love it when it came out, but LOTW has aged wonderfully. It's the last great album he did. Shame Rowan didn't stick around.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

As far as I know, Rowan do anything after leaving Dio. SMH, such a waste.

As far as I know, Rowan do anything after leaving Dio. SMH, such a waste.

He did a project called Violet's Demise with Oni Logan from Lynch Mob.

Also was in a hard rock band called DC4 with Jeff Duncan of Armored Saint.

In real terms though he has produced very little of substance since Dio and massively underdone his potential.

I wish Dio had kept him. That was a great album, and Traci G sucked.

Very nice set!  :metal
Although, Dead Winter Dead is one of my least favourite albums from Savatage, dunno why, I just can't get thorugh it from start to finish. But, I'm listening now -

Mission Profile and Ground Control are very nice, but the rest of the songs are blend for me, very similar. And guitar sound is weak for me... But, very nice vocal performance from Mat  :tup

I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

Mostly Autumn: Sight of Day

Holy cow, the title track of this album is just stunning! Three sections, the outer two being full of life and great vibes, and the middle containing one of the most majestic guitar solos I've ever heard.

Monica Heldal - The One In The Sun

Finally got around to listening to this album from last year after being obsessed with her debut (Boy From The North) for months. This is some good stuff. Indie/folk/blues stuff, lots of fingerpicking acoustic work, but this album (The One In The Sun) is much more band oriented, whereas Boy From The North was a lot more subdued and focused mainly on vocals and fingerstyle guitar. Both are excellent albums and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for something softer but musically rich.

Also returned to Enya's Dark Sky Island which is an utterly fantastic album, Enya at her best. 'So I Could Find My Way' makes me cry.
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

David Gilmour - Live At Pompeii

:heart
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
