Projected - Ignite My Insanity

Projected is a side project between members of Sevendust, Alter Bridge, and Tremonti. Lead singer/guitar is John Connolly from Sevendust, bass is Vinnie Hornsby from Sevendust, drums are Scott Phillips from Alter Bridge, and guitar/vocals from Eric "E Rock" Freidman from Tremonti.

New record is a double concept album. Just listening for the first time...

That and exactly that pressing from Enjoy The Ride Records. Do You Guys know something about using master tapes by Enjoy The Ride to record that vinyl? Or They just ripped from CD?

Haven't listened to it in months, and despite really liking it, I think now it's starting to fully click on me. Probably their most atmospheric, "ambient" record. Love that organic, warm sound and the use of strings.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

callisto: this album has a nice and fairly chill sound for post-metal but it also feels like it's a bit samey at times. i can't really tell a lot of the songs on the back half of the album apart. but that aside it all sounds nice & the noir flavor it has at times certainly makes it stand out
deathspell omega: i don't know if i'm super into this yet but holy hell is this a well-crafted album. dynamic, diverse, and at the very least interesting throughout. phosphene would be my favorite so far, i dig that bass break & the outro is intense as hell, but honestly i feel like the entire thing is starting to open up at this point. and yes this is insanely dissonant and chaotic as hell but, i do dig that. it's a bit hard to have solidified thoughts yet though
the flight of sleipnir: this isn't really notably different from skadi in any way but they have a solid sound that i enjoy listening to and that's basically good enough for me. and most of the songs are memorable enough as well, though i am particularly fond of tracks 1,4, and 7

Yes Years, disc 3. Now I can see what everyone is saying about the intro to A Life Left Behind is so similar to Tempus Fugit..
 I think it's the same exact riff, so it was obviously intentional and giving a nod to Yes a tribute to Chris Squire.
