Eric Gillette - The Great Unknown

 :metal

Big H, that Bob Catley album is excellent. Just one or two lesser songs towards the end drag it down a touch.

White Lion - Mane Attraction

Bonfire - Fireworks

I just bought FLEETWOOD MAC's TUSK on Vinyl for 10€, because I heard it's a good album and also their most experimental.
Giving it a first spin!

people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

i listened to the nova collective album yesterday

i'm happy for them that they can make the music they want and have others hear it

but uhh

this holds absolutely no interest to me and i don't know why anyone would want to listen to this. just an endless string of soulless technicality lol

I kind of like it in the background, but you could literally listen to 2 minutes of any of the songs and you know the entire album pretty much.

I thought the album might've been more Dan-fronted in terms of songwriting, from what I gather he is the one that comes up with a lot of the weird proggy stuff in BTBAM and Orbs. I'm happy for him though, he's a great musician and should get all the recognition he can get.

So I gave the album a spin and this sums it up pretty perfectly, thanks based god Parama.

this holds absolutely no interest to me and i don't know why anyone would want to listen to this. just an endless string of soulless technicality lol

Also is it just me or is it full of incredibly annoying bass and guitar tones?

listening to a lot of french metal bands rn because ???

this is some really twisted & dissonant black metal. pretty moody album too. most memorable moments were these chill bits with great bass grooves.
might revisit it. didn't love it but it's interesting to say the least

This is... different. Kinda classic progressive-metal compared to Coal and The Congregation, but it's really nice. Einar sounds 100% identital to Ross from Haken on some parts. I actually thought I was listening to Haken a few times.  :lol

yeah i gave this a listen a few days ago too. it's... never done as much for me as bilateral and the congregation, nor the better songs off coal. it's solid enough stuff but i dunno, doesn't have the weirdness of bilateral or the jagged grooves of the congregation to make it stand out

I just decided to listen to some Cat Stevens, another artist I (re)discovered by watching How I Met Your Mother (along with f.e. Billy Joel). So I just bought three vinyls of him.

Have you guys noticed, that his voice sometimes sounds like early Peter Gabriel, especially when he sings loudly? Oddly enough, Gabriel has played the flute on one of his albums.

Very nice songs, often very melancholy. I like that.
So:
