RUSH - A Farewell To Kings
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Listening to this right now.  Not sure what to think on my first run through.

I enjoyed it. It didn't blow me away but it's definitely worth mentioning. I like their sound.

Don't think I've ever heard a single song from Lillian Axe, unless Brent slipped one in a podcast.

Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Feeling old school today.

"Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are God. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are God.” — Christopher Hitchens

When I was in college, the fusion ensemble I was in played Charged Particles from this record.  That was a fun tune to play.  Dave Weckl's a beast!

astronoid: yeah, this is a cool sound. i do think the songs stand on their own just enough & it's not too long that it does hold my interest all the way through but i can't see them making another album without doing at least something different with the sound. but it's both pretty intense and pretty gorgeous and i very much dig that.
east of the wall: i didn't really have many expectations for this one, and having given it a decent amount of spins now, i can say... yeah, it's just okay. i got this more for completion's sake tbh and it's still pretty solid, there's some great instrumental bits here but it pales in comparison to their later work.
xanthochroid: honestly i'm not even close to being done digesting this one because there's a lot to it and it's actually, really great. the quieter tracks all have enough personality to stand out and while a few of the metal tracks haven't really clicked for me (mostly the three shorter ones) the ones that have are really good; especially that fantastic closer, geez. good stuff.

'studying in the public library' music be like

First time listening to Air, it was really quite good ("Homesick" is the best them). Too bad the album cover is so bland that it kept me from checking it out earlier.

Air really is great. I could seriously knock up an album cover better than that in a few hours though. It is so bad, I just don't get it. I don't find anything appealing about it at all. The logo, the colours, the subject matter, they are all lacking in my view.
