 :metal :metal :metal

Goddamn, I forgot how good this album is. This was my Friday night jam about 7-8 years ago. It's got everything needed for a perfect sing-along/air guitar/air drum session  :metal forgot how good the one-two punch of Carry Me Home/Don't Shut the Gate is.

Also, Dat Double Bass!!

Any fans of The Living End? Anyone who played the Guitar Hero games will recognise Carry Me Home as it was on #2 (I think).

aenaon: this is a pretty cool sound that i dig quite a bit, but i can't help but feel that there's... something missing. mind you this is still a pretty good album though. the use of sax and the general kind-of-but-not-extremely weird vibe of the songs is nice and the metal's pretty good. one of the vocalists who does this weird growl/talking thing can be a bit annoying at times i guess. but yeah i'll def keep spinning this at the very least
the antlers: oh goddammit why didn't i check this out sooner. this is just plain great. wake is a goddamn masterpiece of a song and two and epilogue are pretty damn great too and i wouldn't say there are really any weak tracks, though atrophy is easily my least favorite here. i know the concept is like some metaphor or something but i think i prefer to take it literally & it works great on that level anyways so, whatever, good stuff
indukti: this is like. halfway between the first three riverside albums and adhd. basically. none of the synthy industrial stuff but it's got the same jagged, riff-based feel throughout. and mariusz being present on two of the songs certainly helps that feel. i don't know if it's an album i can say stands out that much, but i can say that it's pretty good. a few too many moments of pointless downtime though

His voice reminds me quite a bit of the singer from Agent Fresco. This album, just like Felt is very pleasant to listen to while reading/studying, it creates a nice atmosphere without being too distracting.

Finally gave this a listen the other day. It's the usual Testament affair and nothing particularly new but I enjoyed the hell out of it.

As my most listened to genre of at least the past 6 months, it's crazy that I just found this album that blows almost all of the post-rock albums I've heard in that period of time out of the water. It's times like this that I hate how popular a band like Explosions in the Sky is, while these guys are never heard of (they have like 900 likes on facebook :P).
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.
