We broke up because she wanted kids and I didn't.

I've had that happen too. I think I've told this story before but ever since I was a teenager I would have these dreams where I would be lying in my bed and I would hear people talking outside. The voices were clear as day, I could never make sense of what they were saying but it would happen frequently. There was no chance of anyone talking outside because we had a fenced in yard and my mom and her friends all speak Lithuanian or Russian and these voices spoke perfect English.

It still happens although not as frequently. In our current apartment sometimes it'll sound like someone is in the other room or right outside on a balcony, even though we don't have a balcony and leave on the 4th floor.

I never wanted to get married, but eventually did at 30. Granted, I'm divorced now but never say never. As far as kids, I always hated dealing with them. It was probably pretty selfish of me, but it was how I felt. My daughter was born when I was 34 and I don't regret it one bit. She's the most amazing thing to come into my life. Don't be surprised if you one day change your mind, especially if you have a daughter. You will always be the first man she loves and there's no greater feeling. Trust me. Take it from someone who couldn't even stand to be around his younger cousins (I'm the oldest) because he couldn't be bothered. You never know, my friend.

On that note, I'm heading into the field. I'll catch up with all of you later.

So yesterday was the 16th anniversary of my first date (blind date) with Mrs. P. It was fun to reminisce about that evening and the path that ultimately got us to marital bliss. What a great day, yesterday.

At the same time, almost literally across the street, Bill Clinton will be doing an event for Hillary. Lunch time traffic in Harrisburg is going to be a BITCH. People are not going to be very happy. Then Trump is having a rally in another part of town tonight.

I've disabled signatures. And it's often more because of the amount of time it takes to load stuff like that if you have a slow connection.

G'morning everybody

Got a non-standard request from a client yesterday that led to a half hour phone call between myself and my colleagues in Ireland deciding how we were going to handle it, followed by about an hour of me working in Excel to implement our work around. Came in this morning to an email that the client changed their mind and wanted to handle the issue in the normal way (which would have involved no manual work from me). This is why we can't have nice things.

Right, but signatures and/or avatars are more graphics to load. When browsing by phone it can slow things down. I have toyed with the idea of disabling avatars, but it's usually easier to recognize people by their avatars than to actually have to take the half second longer to actually read their username.

I don't really have a problem with them on my phone. To each his own.
I do, however, remember the time before signature height restrictions back on EZBoard and vBulletin when some people had signatures longer than most posts. Of course, that was well before mobile browsing.
