Best season of The Walking Dead (POLL)

So now that season 6 has finished, I thought it would be cool to get this kind of poll going, everyone gets 2 votes so vote for your favourite and second favourite seasons.
In posts, feel free to rank them from your favourite to least favourite and explain why.

My rankings: (top=best.) (bottom=worst)
Season 5 - Felt action packed, contains the best/most well made episodes 

Season 1 - This high up because at the time it felt fresh and unique

Season 6 - Some of the cinematography is fantastic, but weighed down by characters being ruined, bland episodes and a terrible ending.

Season 4 - This low because the first half was as stale as season 3

Season 3 - This was completely stale and frustrating in jumping between the prison and woodbury whenever something important was going to happen

Season 2 - Looking at a farm is not my idea of entertainment, first and last episodes were the only decent ones here

The show didn't start annoying the shit out of me on a regular basis until season 3.

Season 1, I think the focus was more about building a functional society/system with a group of broken people than about smashing zombies in spectacular ways.
