As mentioned in the first thread, pick your five favorite songs from this year. Two will advance to the 80s finals.

The ultimate goal: to see what DTF's favorite number 1 song of the 1980s is.

Here we have the choices for 1983.

YOU CAN VOTE FOR FIVE SONGS.

This is the hardest one so far, at least 11 pretty good songs there. I guess i will go:

Billie Jean, Beat It, Sweet Dreams, Let's Dance and Every Breath.

Outcrier: Toughest cop on the force.

Both MJ, Toto, Bowie, Lionel Richie.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

Kev, Billy Joel's Uptown Girl was not a number 1 song in 1983?

EDIT: OK, looked at chart performance. Looks like it was a big hit in the UK, but not really in the US.

Down Under
Africa
Let's Dance
Every Breath You Take
Tell Her About It

As I said before, the number one songs often aren't the best songs of the artist or the particular record
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

Wow! A real bunch of classics here!

Jackson x2, Toto, Police and Eurythmics, which always reminds me of The Simpsons. ("I travelled the world and the seven seas/I AM WATCHING YOU THROUGH A CAMERA!")

This is tricky. Africa is the obvious number one, followed closely by Total Eclipse and Maniac, two absolutely monstrous tunes. The two Billy's, Joel and Jean make up the final two. Sad to leave Bowie out though

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.
