Hans Zimmer is Hans Zimmer. Most of his work I do not find all that interesting. I do like some
Gladiator, though. Oh, and his
Rain Man score is fantastic! However, a week ago I saw
Batman v Superman and I did like some tracks that Zimmer and our Dutch Junkie XL made. The Lex Luthor Theme stands out, because it is so different from the rest of the score. It is a good piece to practice harmonic analysis for one thing. Harmonically, it is very classical, but it is practically very simple to perform (but that is partly the power of Hans Zimmer: there is really not much going on, but the sound is just so powerful).
