It's a great way of keeping up with him.... He has many surprises coming... And you never know if he will release something DT related...

As far as replies to this specific topic, there's a "Notify button" at the top and bottom of the thread to the right.  Click that and if there are any new posts to this thread and you will be notified.

Once you're notified, you won't be notified again until you go in and read the new posts.  Then you will get notified again, etc. etc.

Well, I was really bummed when Black Country Communion broke up... especially since his contributions to that band seemed to get bigger with each release.

I honestly can't even think of a serious DT era question for Derek. If I could, it has probably already been asked.  Such as:
How did you mend fences with John Petrucci?

I know Petrucci played on a Sherinian solo CD, so it probably centers around that.

So not necessarily DT related:
Have you considered putting out a video on sound sculpting some of your favorite and iconic patches?
What about a video on songwriting / composition (not scales and exercises)?
How is Tony MacAlpine doing?
Still working with Albert?
Other than touring and recording with Van Halen, if you could make an album purely for your own self interest, what would it sound like?
Ever worry you might be exposed as a nice guy and not the egomaniac image you work so hard to cultivate?   :biggrin:
Hoping and wishing good thoughts for your immediate family.

Dude was woefully underutilized, which is awful because the music they were cranking out just screamed for his style of playing.

Yes.  Derek has a raging boner for the B3 and BCC called out for the B3.  Not that it wasn't used, but Derek taking it up a notch or five would have done wonders for a band (already doing wonderfully).

I feel bad for Derek that the BCC egos (not his by all accounts) couldn't be set aside to keep a good thing going.  Pretty hard for the keyboard player to be the spotlight for a rock band on such a level.  His best solo stuff probably centers around his Lukather collaborations.  Too bad those two can't get something relatively big going together.

BCC were good. Bonamassa is awesome too. Wasn't a big fan of Bonham's drumming though.

I believe it was a different forum platform that I was given admin rights, but as the admin there I was able to move the thread to a different subforum and the original post header would stay with <moved> in the title, where clicking on it would bring the users to the new forum with the moved thread.

Haven't looked for the other Sherinian thread, so is that not what's happening?

BTW, probably the biggest question for Derek is "how are you doing?"  I follow him on Twitter, but I almost never check it because I'm not a big Twitter fan.  Seems like he is doing well and the Tweets I did read was the first time I realized he had a kid (or two?).  I figured he was going to wait until 70 before he settled down.

Nice.  Looks like he is going to demo a bunch of prolific synths.  I was really checking out all the classics about 2 years ago myself.  The different characteristics and which bands made them famous.  So as soon as he said Wurlitizer, I was expecting Supertramp not far behind.

I actually like Derek's solo albums better than the Planet X stuff (not that I don't like the Planet X stuff).  Derek strikes me as somebody that absolutely thrives as a writing partner.  His solo work really reflects this.
