i just can't think of a better pop song. it's weird but not toooo weird, it has unique instrumentation mixed with contemporary pop instrumentation that keeps it from getting dated, it has a fantastic chorus, and gaga was always a better singer than her peers to begin with.

I agree about everything you said. (Un)fortunately, I can't listen to pop music for too long so I never tried playing her whole album to find if she had other songs I liked.

i'm with you on that one Parama.  for modern pop anyway, it's pretty damn close to perfect.  the chorus is gorgeous, how it repeats the same lines with the just like a real slight semi-tone shift the second time around, its total 80s and lovely.

but I can't go past Tears for Fears, Everybody Wants to Rule the World or even Head Over Heels eats any pop, all the pop, ever made since.

i never listened to that whole album either, but I listened to ArtPop a few times and there are some great tracks on that.  she really knows how to write a great pop tune.

Rather Be by Clean Bandit. I normally despise pop music but the second I heard this song I loved it. There's just too much to say about this song to write it here so for anyone who has never heard it, I'll post the link.

So, I gave a listen to the ones all of you posted which I didn't know until now.

Lately I've been crazy about Blank Space by Taylor Swift :D
That was nice, but the one which has been stuck in my had recently is "Wildest dreams". It was playing at the supermarket the other day. I don't find the lyrics very good, but some of the melodies are really cool!

5 Colours In Her Hair by McFly.
Holy crap, that song is 12 years old? I tought McFly was a much younger band.

From the last few years...

Shut Up and Dance:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JCLY0Rlx6Q

Uptown Funk is not far behind.
That "Shut Up and Dance" has some big U2 vibes on it!
And "Uptown Funk" is catchy indeed! It plays all the time on a radio station I listen to everyday.

White Foxes.
Nice listening to it once again! I'm curious - have you listened to Christina Perri? I find her voice really similar, although her music isn't as original. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrNQGFYF1Ak is my favourite, but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtOvBOTyX00 is also beautiful.

I was always a sucker for 'Cry Me a River' by Justin Timberlake and all of the upbeat Beyoncé tunes, Single Ladies, Crazy in Love etc.

Bad Romance for sure, I think my jaw dropped the first time I heard that song, which I don't think has ever happened with another pop song.

Also, Shake It Off by Taylor Swift.  I'm not really a fan of hers in general, but talk about a catchy, upbeat, well-constructed song.

Seal - Crazy

Crazy is great, but I definitely prefer Kiss From a Rose. That song gives me chills every time I hear it.

Call Me Maybe was the first one that came to mind. There's pop songs I like more, but if we're going just on catchyness, you can hear it once and you won't un-hear it.

I lean toward more brit/euro pop like Parklife by Blur, Lovefool by The Cardigans, She's Electric by Oasis, etc.

Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer.  That was a big change from their darker earlier stuff.

Most of early Duran Duran, although some of their later stuff is uplifting as well.
"I don't know nuttin about nuttin" - Marshawn Lynch

The very soul of what was once real music is now lost in a digital quagmire of emotionless sonic madness.
