Yeah, I get that feeling. I didn't really put that much thought into giving like 25 10s (or however many). It's hard to think about it too much, because I change my mind often and I think the greater choice with the .5 increments makes my ratings scale upwards. Note how aggregate ratings out of 100 are far higher than they are when they're out of 5. I don't really know why that is and I may be slightly wrong as well.

That's an interesting question: how many Dream Theater songs would you give a 10? 

I think so far, I have given a 10 to:

Take the Time
Surrounded
Metropolis
Learning to Live
Erotomania
Voices
Scarred
Lines in the Sand

I still haven't voted on the songs put up today, but I think the only post-FII songs I would give a 10 to might be Home and The Spirit Carries On.  That gives me 10.  Trial of Tears is usually in my top 10, but I gave it a 9.5.  Weird.

I've given one 10 out so far and that was to A Change of Seasons. I'm giving a 10 to my top 4, a 9.5 to my 5-8, and a 9 to my 9-10.

The only 10 I've given yet is to Take the Time. 9+ is reserved for clear top 10 type songs, so I've only given a few of those so far, with the rest yet to come. There will be more 10s once we get to SDOIT.
Speaking of which, since this is song ratings, you'll be keeping SDOIT disc 2 as one, right?

I find it very difficult to rate the songs off of Train of Thought. Every one is at least a little bit brilliant, but more than any other Dream Theater album, which is saying something, there's so much soloing and instrumental fireworks that it gets exhausting to me.
