I'm ten minutes in and it feels like the writing of 2 Broke Girls with the Full House cast. Opinions?

The writing just feels...empty. Feels like it tries way too hard to pander to fans of the original show too, which I was never keen on to begin with either.

I cringed hard the jab at the Olsen twins too. Looks like they made a smart move with this one. :corn

Eh, it was more of a friendly rib. They weren't nasty about it. I thought it was funny breaking the fourth wall like that.

I'm halfway through the season. The show is aimed squarely at the nostalgia for the original show, especially that first episode. Everything feels consistent with the original, same style of show, same house, same writing, no curveballs, very safe overall. This show is only for people who watched the original. It even gives you that same dirty feeling afterwards. Underneath that, the writing is solid and enjoyable, and has a few funny moments, but it's definitely not a show I'd watch if not for the nostalgia factor.

It's nothing like 2 Broke Girls. Aside from having girls.

And aside from them being broke, which was probably the motivation behind the creation of this new show. :lol

I had no interest in Fuller House, until I read this review. Now there's a decent chance I watch at least the pilot once I have a buzz going tomorrow night.

Hell, I still can't believe the original show was ever popular, because it was fucking awful even back then.

Morbid curiosity?

Besides, it's not a "Fuller House Appreciation Thread."  And you didn't give it overwhelming praise yourself.

I'm not saying you should love it to discuss it, but it is a Fuller House discussion thread. You clearly hate the franchise, and apparently haven't seen nor have any intention to see the actual show we're discussing, so what are you adding to the discussion with that last post? If you're curious, you can simply read the thread.

I really liked the pilot, it was cute. I remember watching the original back in the day but I wasn't enthralled with it as a kid.

I have no desire to watch this show. Now, seeing Punky Brewster all grown up is another story altogether.

Soleil Moon Frye actually had to have a reduction due to a medical condition that made her grow to proportions that caused her extreme back problems.

I know. I wept that evening.  :'(   She's still beautiful though.

I have a friend who had to do the same thing. She was like a triple F or something like that.

Lori Loughlin still looks amazing.  Yeah, she's getting old; so am I.  She's the hottest one in that picture.

My choice is Jodie Sweetin. However, to change the subject for a moment, nobody grew up quite like Madeline Zima.

She's definitely taken care of herself. Kimmy Gibbler aside, all of the (returning) girls are looking damn fine.
Most of the cast have aged pretty well (or makeup just did a great job of covering it up). I like the part in the pilot where John Stamos says how good they all still look. :lol
