I'm about ready to give up on The Grinder. Fred Savage's character is starting to get really annoying.

I watch the occasional The Grinder episode, but it is all about Rob Lowe.  I enjoy his awkward comedy routine.  It isn't even all that different from his Parks and Recreation routine (different premises, but same mannerisms).  I believe Fred Savage has been cast as the slightly annoying, too serious and close-minded for their own good character ... even when they have a point.  Rob Lowe's character probably wouldn't work without Fred Savage's "Grimey" character.

At the same time, I don't feel strongly enough about The Grinder to defend it as anything more than a stupid, fun comedy.

I actually stuck with Homeland until the final season but I gave up after 2 episodes and haven't returned since. I enjoyed the other seasons though.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

???
Tell me about it  :lol - everyone else I've spoken to has binge-watched it. I got 8 episodes into it, and lost interest. Not sure why it didn't grab me.. Maybe I can't shake the memories of the Ben Affleck movie.

I can probably officially add TWD to my list. I watched the first 2 since it started (just barely), but when it came around for the latest episode (nr3) I just didn't have any motivation or interest in it. When you're unemployed and have all the time in the world and you still feel like you have better things to do, I think it's the right time to give up on a show.

You're not alone! That's about the same point that I gave up on it, too. But about 4 months later I did come back and finish it. Mainly because everyone else seemed convinced it was awesome. It's okay, but it's nothing special.

I guess I can add Homeland to this list. After the show finally managed to make basically every character unlikable by the time I got to season 3, I could no longer see the point in watching it.

Billions, I don't know I like both Paul and Damian but for some reason I didn't get hooked.

I watched 10 episodes of season 1. Gave up after the 300th flashback.

I salute you sir, unfortunately I wasn't as smart.

The Simpsons - After one season. I liked them so much better when they were shorts during The Tracey Ullman Show.

Simpsons S3 - S7 (give or take a season) is gold. I gave up in the early 2000s when it was past the point of no return, and any random bit I've seen since has made me glad I didn't waste my time with the last 15 seasons.

Most recently 'Outcast'.  Gave after 4 episodes, just found it boring.
I gave up on 'Mad Men' a couple of episodes in to season 2 - It was a well made show, but just wasn't for me.
'Sons of Anarchy' I didn't so much actively gave up on this, I just haven't picked it up again since the end of season 4 - Maybe one day i'll finish it off.
'Arrow' Towards the end of Season 3 I just lost patience with it, and enough was enough.  I fear 'The Flash' will go the same way unless it improves on Season 2.
Another shout out for Homeland - I got to the conclusion of Season 3 and haven't picked it up since.
The quickest is 'Penny Dreadful' The first episode actually sent me to sleep, no more after that.

My wife and I recently gave up on Mad Men. I think she was enjoying it a bit more than me, but for neither of us did it really make us want to keep watching. It's a really well made show - good writing, good acting, some good ideas - but it's the "soap opera" style of storytelling that just doesn't really interest me. We got halfway through season 3 and the show was just going nowhere.

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.

I gave up halfway through season three. I loved the first two seasons, and the third wasn't terrible. I just got bored and found myself not giving the slightest shit about what was going on.

I don't get this. It's like watching the first 5 minutes of a 2 hour movie and say it sucked and turn it off.

I saw one ep all the way through. But it was always on in the background at the rehearsal studio as others were watching it.

I enjoyed the first few seasons of TBBT, but around S4 or S5 it became really mediocre. I feel the hate on it is somewhat unfair, that's just the level of quality most mainstream sitcoms hold these days, whether it was HIMYM or 2 ½ Men, it's something dumb and mindless you put on.

After watching Seinfeld, it's almost painful how terrible most sitcoms are.
