Hunter (80s cop show)
« on: February 21, 2016, 07:50:59 AM »
Anyone else grow up watching this every week?  Having seen some reruns over the years, I am not sure it has aged that well, but for its time, it was highly enjoyable.

Stepfanie Kramer was my first celebrity crush at the age of 12 and still looks great!

I watched Hunter every week.

Ditto on Stephanie Kramer, btw.  Smokin'.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I never really watched the show by choice.  But one of my friends loved it, so I saw a good chunk of shows if he was around when it was on.  Same with WWF.

Stepfanie Kramer was probably what kept me from complaining.  I wouldn't say she's *hot* (for a celeb at least), but now that I did an image search to remember who she was, she did look a bit like another friend's single mom.  That friend would have complained if I turned on Hunter (and died if WWF came on).  Did I mention his mom?

I remember the show, but I never watched it.  Watching the interview Kev posted, Stepfanie Kramer actually looks better now, IMO.

Also, I had no idea Fred Dryer was a football player.  13 years as a defensive end for the Giants and the Rams.  Also, the only NFL player to ever score two safeties in one game.

That's why my Dad started us watching the show in the first place.  He wasn't just another pretty actor playing tough - he was a legitimate badass.

Dryer had a couple of guest spots on "Cheers" as a douchey sportscaster as well.

Didn't realize it had so many theme song variations.  That doesn't fit the model for TV shows.

My favorite 80s action show theme song was Simon & Simon.

Mike Post and Pete Carpenter ruled the 80's theme songs.

Ruled.

I cannot judge how great an 80's theme song is at all.  Those were the golden years of my childhood, so the nostalgia comes flooding in.  Anything after I became a man, DVR/Streaming skip over the theme song.  Theme songs are so lame.  But start the Cheers theme song and a two ton heavy thing of memories hits me over the head all at once.

But if you want to talk about the best 80s TV theme song, is there really any question that it isn't this
