I'm not a fan of their current uniforms. I hate the numbers.

Hey, I just picked up on that "Team Mount Rushmore" thing; I like that a LOT!!

Patriots:  Belichick, Brady, Hannah, Wilfork   If not Belichick, then Gronkowski
Giants:    Gifford, Manning, Taylor, Strahan

Panthers don't have the long history of most teams, but their "Mt. Rushmore" would probably look like:

Jake Delhomme, Sam Mills, Cam Newton, maybe Kevin Greene
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I think Steve Smith should be in there. He's who I think of when I think of greatest Panther of all time. Cam and Luke certainly have the potential to surpass him.

Should surprise no one that I would have Steve Smith and even Julius Peppers in there over Cam Newton.  Newton WILL be there if he continues to play like he did this year, but one season, and a season that ended like it did, doesn't get you on Mt. Rushmore, in my humble opinion.

HUGE fan of Jake and especially Sam Mills (I wonder how many fans - including Panther fans - know the backstory of why Stephen Curry was there banging the drum), though.

The only reason I included Cam was the MVP.  That's a pretty big bit of bling that, for a team with Carolina's relative brevity, is hard to ignore.

Maybe Steve Smith over Kevin Greene.  That was my toss-up.  Otherwise, and I mean this with all sincerity, John Kasay would be a great choice (yes, he was a kicker).

Don't apologize for Kasay.  I strongly considered Viniateri AND Gostkowski for the Pats (and, ironically, that they both played for the team was in part what led me to leave both off the list).

49ers:  Lots of candidates, and while there are certainly good arguments to be made for players like Ronnie Lott, Roger Craig, and Dwight Clark, I think the "big 4" for a Mt. Rushmore are easily Montana, Rice, Young, Walsh.  No doubts, hesitation, or second-guessing.

==========

Some teams that I think are much harder to do are teams like the Packers, Colts, and Cowboys.  Curious to know whether anyone would disagree with these lists:

Packers:  Lombardi, Starr, Favre, Rodgers.  Lombardi is a slam-dunk, and once you get past him, I know this is a QB-heavy list to the exclusion of other positions.  But I think there is a VERY strong case for inclusion of all three of those guys.

Cowboys:  Landry, Staubach, Lilly, Aikman.  This was a LOT harder, partly because they have such a long history and so many talented players, and partly because I have never been a fan.  Another wrinkle is that they had a few players that were stars that were just as much stars elsewhere long before or long after their stays in Dallas, like Sanders and Hailey.  What do you do with guys like that?  Also, what about guys like Emmitt Smith and Tony Dorsett?

No way Rodgers is ahead of the Reverand.

I think Emmitt should be on Dallas' Mt Rushmore. Not sure who you bump though.

Assuming we're including coaches, yes, that exactly what I would have chosen. If not, I'd slide Ronnie Lott in to replace Walsh.

My Eagles Mt. Rushmore:
Reggie White, Chuck Bednarik, Brian Dawkins, Randall Cunningham

I think the first 3 are locks and I went with Cunningham because of personal preference, but a bunch of people could've been in that 4 spot (Jerome Brown, Seth Joyner, McNabb, Norm Van Brocklin).

Other talking points:
Will Peyton Manning retire?
What does the future hold for Brock Osweiler, Kirk Cousins, Robert Griffin & Johnny Manziel?
Will any of the big free agents go to new teams?
Will Goodell do anything to make us roll our eyes this offseason?
Which players coming back from injury, such as Jordy Nelson & Kelvin Benjamin, will have the biggest impact for their team?

And of course…. How are you feeling about your team right this second? What changes do they need to make for the 2016 campaign? Who should they target in free agency and in the draft?

1.  Peyton most likely should retire, but my guess is that he might not. We shall see.
2.  Not sure about Osweiler. Cousins? He'll probably stay where he's at for now. Griffin and Manziel will b lucky to still have jobs in the NFL. Manziel especially--what a shithook.
3.  There most assuredly will be movement--there always is. Again... we shall see.
4.  When does Goody-Two-Shoes NOT make us roll our eyes?
5.  Most likely, Nelson especially.
6.  The Texans need help. DESPERATELY. You cannot put everything on Watt's shoulders and expect good results. The biggest change I wish for is for McNair to fire Rick Smith. Smith has been making HORRIBLE staff decisions, and I'm not the only Texans fan calling for his head on a platter.  We need either a good free agent QB or a decent draft QB to build up. I've been saying this since 2012--we NEED a field general, not a schlub who doesn't anticipate the other team's defense sussing the play calls out. Oh... and the O-line needs to shore up as well, instead of being like a piece of Swiss cheese. It's unacceptable that we get facerolled in the REALLY BIG games. I'm tired of that happening. Not sure who is at fault there, but it needs to stop. Being one of the best losing teams in the AFC is really getting old. Been dealing with that since the "Luv Ya Blue" days--that was going on 40 years ago. It's time. We need a true TEAM to get to the big dance, instead of continually being the laughing stock.

Ugh. Sorry for the rant. :lol

Masochistic Jets fan (redundant?) reporting for duty. As much as I hated being kept out of the playoffs by Rex in week 17, gotta be happy with a six win jump in one year. Definitely a tougher offseason for us budget-wise than last year, but I'm encouraged by the Maccagnan/Bowles tandem. DoC pretty much nailed my Jets Rushmore, though I might consider subbing in someone from the Sack Exchange for Maynard just for generational variety.

Pats -- Tom Brady, John Hannah, Ty Law, Andre Tippett

What, no room for Jim McNally?
