hhhmmmm... I'm reminded of something I saw in a roulette not too long ago.

That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad

Sorry for my absence yesterday evening, I was still recovering after all the awesomeness of Steven Wilson's show.

Do you have something against layered music in general, or just in rock/metal, Ev?

I haven't heard a lot of layered music I guess.

So, I've got everyone except 425. Since I have a day-off and I've got nothing better to do, I'll start listening today to speed up the process, and just listen to his song more when he sends it in.

Also, two players sent the same song again. Are you guys kidding me or what? :lol

This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

I just informed them via PM. If they want, they can reveal it here, if not, well you guys will have to wait until the results.

After some listens, I've got to say this round has some really good stuff (maybe not anything on Redemption level, but still, really good), and some songs I thought weren't that good at all. If these first listens are any indication, I will have a very difficult time choosing which two participants should proceed into the main rounds. But the gap between good songs and not-so-good songs is definitely wider this time.

425, it would've been great if you sent something until tomorrow evening.

I'm aiming on posting tidbits either today or tomorrow evening and the results should be up on Friday / Saturday. I've got something that's probably going to keep me occupied at Friday and the rest of weekend, but I'll do my best to deliver the results on time.

Damn, nothing as good as the 9.5 song from last round, but the gap between the good and bad has become bigger? Expecting some juicy lower tier scores  :corn

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and bow out. I don't have the time right now to commit to playing in another roulette, and I don't think I have enough to send you anyway. The spots should go to people who have stuff to send and the time to dedicate to this, and between the Roulette Championship, Sacul's roulette and the Iron Maiden Survivor, plus real life things, I don't have that time. Thanks for the opportunity! I'll be following for sure.

Finally in biznezz here ............got 3 or 4 definites tucked away (subject to cock blocks).   With that in mind ,what sort of weighting are you giving the EP round?

I'm still thinking about it, but it will be something like 15 or 20 points for the actual songs (ranking every song and then getting the average score) and 5 points for how well EP worked overall. Something along the lines of what Train of Naught did in his roulette. So if you don't want to depend on that silly flow thing you better get a solid five-points lead before Round 8.

Don't forget that you will be able to earn maximum 20 points in Round 7 too, 10 points for each of two songs.

And on a somewhat unrelated note, tidbits are coming up in a few hours.

I'm never going to be forgiven for failing to specifically rate EP flow in my roulette  :'(   :lol

It's not like that, really. :lol Everyone rates whatever he wants to rate. You wanted to get a bunch of great songs in your EP so you rated songs only, I want to get something that can be listened as a whole so I'm going to give out a small amount of points for the flow too.

I wasn't giving a credit, I was providing an example, and his roulette was the most recent. If anything, we all should give 425 a credit for the EP-round idea itself, I think he was the first who came up with that.

Also, looking forward to the tidbits.

Here they are!

Before the roulette started, I was sure I’ll just eliminate you and get on with it, and you just had to go ahead and make everything way more difficult for me.

So, how come Parama knows songs like this one but almost always ends up sending me some crap?

If there was the 13th spot in the main competition I would’ve probably let you participate just so you could send me all these artists, but alas, there isn’t one.

Uh… yeah, no. I stand corrected and I take my words back. Thanks?

Both the groovy bass in the beginning and the grinding riff in the very end were quite unexpected for me, to be honest.

After the first round, I was sure I’ll just eliminate you and get on with it, and you just had to go ahead and make everything way more difficult for me.

Results probably this Friday. I'm sure about one person who will definitely make it and still undecided on the other one.

Also, I'd like to hear your comment on video. It's not made for that song but it matches it perfectly.

If he did include mine, but I doubt it, it would be the fourth, cause that's the most WTF reaction. The video doesn't really help in that regard either.
