Cool stuff! I really dig 'em, I think that they're something that the band has never done and it fits in the flow of the album. They are so eerie. The best ones are Descent and Power Down.

I actually like 'Digital Discord' and 'Power Down'....an eeriness, and love the back and forth stereo.

A good way of dividing up listening sequences.  And....I'll bet the videos and effects will be excellent in concert.

Plus, it will give the band little breaks in between chunks of songs live, instead of them having to play Act 1 from start to finish with no break (which would be exhausting for guys in their 20s, much less 50+).

I doubt I will listen to them much ever, but I get why they are there.

I really hope the NOMAC track will be a little long live, that'd be sweet.

These are my 2 favorite ones too. Power Down has several repeating themes, like robotic riffs I guess, and Digital Discord has some dubstep sounds. I think they are the most unique ones.

'Machine Chatter'....almost sounds as if it wants to take off into 'Build Me Up, Break Me Down'........

I voted for the Descent of the NOMACS as it felt really ominous and really gave us the first glimpse of the tyranny of Nafaryus, and I when I listen to it for the first time I felt I was going to witness something special

I actually really like them.

They do not overstay their welcome and there is a sense of ambient/dubstep to them at times, along with adding to the atmosphere of the album as a whole. In context of the album, I like Hovering Sojourn the most. Not skipping material for me.
This, I think they are cool.

Power Down. I think it's the most "catchy" NOMAC track out of them all. The menacing noise machines are finally shut down for good, and it's dramatic (For machine sounds, at least).

I highly enjoy the NOMAC tracks, they're actually quite well-made for what they are, just being dissonant senseless noise. They make a nice break in the music that help the flow.

Probably have to go with Machine Chatter because it actually has a beat and some melodic qualities to it.
Descent is also an amazingly disturbing, scary, and urgent beginning to the album that is very fitting.

That would be amazing...and have something playing the NOMAC sounds attached to you as you move around. You'd get a lot of really interesting reactions.

Voted Machine Chatter, mainly for the addition of the drum machine to add a bit of rhythm. Also interesting is how the NOMAC sounds pop up in other tracks as well, such as A Savior in the Square (before the trumpet fanfare).

Hahaha. Funny poll.  There is a track on the 2nd cd that I accidentally skip sometimes because it sounds like a NOMAC track at first.

This absolutely...!...plus it's the only one that I consider to be an important part of the story. You don't really need to hear the rest of them, because they're not really referenced in any of the songs that follow them, except maybe at the beginning. But hearing them being shut down, finally and forever, in my opinion makes a really good point of illustrating what this was all about, why all the sacrifices were made, and what the Ravenskill people were trying to accomplish.

I really like how they expand the NOMAC tracks during live perfomances, so The Hovering Sojourn is definitely my favourite of the altered tracks. My favourite studio NOMAC track is still Power Down. :)

Edit: No love for the latter it seems.  :lol None is voted more than poor Power Down.

I know, and I have no idea why...I love Power Down. If anything it was the closest to what I expected these tracks to sound like in the first place.

Power Down ends with total silence, and then starts Astonishing. I totally understand that silence is the whole point of the piece, the NOMACs are shut down for good, but I feel that for a powerful contrast it would have been better if the silence was missing and Astonishing started straight away. I actually skip it myself, when Power Down is about to end I skip immediately to Astonishing and the contrast between the last "noises" and the glorious beginning of the title track is powerful.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

Aww, come on guys!  I actually like all these tracks, they're really fun.  The bass on them when playing in my car or at home is great!  They're so short too, so I never skip them.  I want to put :metal but it doesn't quite seem to apply :lol

As an up and coming dubstep fan, i have to say that the Nomac tracks are simply amazing. It's really a toss up what my favorite is, it would have to be the Digital Discord track that would be my favorite. Sounds like something that would start off an Excision song.

Digital Discord, there is something quite creepy about it especially because it follows A Tempting Offer.
