So I've revisited rounds 6 to 9 (
) and I've got to say, I didn't expect some of these tracks to grow on me like they did. Sadly, round 7 didn't have any of them. One exception below. As before, short writeups.
Round 2
(425)
Bon Iver -
Skinny LoveThe biggest grower on the whole damn roulette - I just love this more with each listen, and the only track from previous rounds I felt like revisiting for this ocassion. Damn, how this went from a +4 to this, is beyond me.

(Tyrias)
Azedia -
Requiem for the New WorldOk I realize I was too harsh with this one. Yeah, the narration turns me off, but it doesn't last as much as I thought it did. Also, the instrumentation is pretty nice too, although I feel it drags a bit overall. Sorry for the rant back then

Pearl Jam -
BlackThe reason this one got a 3 was before although I like what I heard, I strugguled to remember anything from it except some vocal melodies. Now I realise that's because this band doesn't have an instantly recognizable, unique sound to them. And most melodies here aren't really memorable tbh. That being said, I have grown to appreciate the emotional power behind it, but just that.

God Is an Astronaut -
Fire Flies And Empty SkiesSo this might not be the most creative song on the roulette, and post-rock is certainly a genre I feel I'm done with having listened to the big artists. However this grew a bit on me. With that said, when it gets good, like in the last minute, it just ends in a really abrup way. So I don't think I can score it more than this.

Theodor Bastard -
Umbraya ErzeFor some reason this kind of music makes me travel to distant, surreal landscapes. And I love it when it happens. Plus, I'm a bit of a sucker for this kind of dark world music with some tribal stuff in.

(Parama)
The Hirsch Effekt -
BezoarThis song is still a fucking mess, but now it's actually enjoyable for some reason. The "extreme" moments are still my least favourite, for I feel they're heavy for the sake of it, and to me that's pointless.

Arc of SpaceI guess I just don't connect with the songwriting and how this song is built, yet the score I gave it before feels unfair.

So yet another tie in the lead, how surprising. Now home is pretty much into the finals at this point, as well as the Biskit. But will it remain this way with the next round? I may have talked too soon to predict if someone fell out of the top 5, but who knows...
Reminder Round 10 results will be up this Wednesday evening GMT -3.
