If it's what I think it is, I literally wanted to send them next round, it fits pretty much both those descriptions, though I'm not too sure if it can be labeled 'death' metal

looking over train's top 50 list i think i have a good idea of who you sent, except you sent a very standard song from them in my roulette as far as i can remember (i actually don't remember what the song sounds like at all... )

But.. if it's the band I'm thinking about, I didn't even send it in your roulette  :lol (now browsing through my own top 50 because I have no idea which band you're talking about)

Yeah, I wouldn't classify Slash as Tim Burton-ish death classical spasmic prog metal but nice guess

Bumping to officially start the roulette since 14 of you have already sent and there's only one album left to be revealed on my top 50. So those who haven't sent (aka Evermind :P) have 48 hours to do so. If everything goes fine, expect results this Monday evening (GMT -3).

He added random albums that we like to boost our confidence in our own music tastes. For a second I thought I wasn't the only person on earth who digs Noisia, then again, Sacul how the fuck do you even know Noisia?

I have no clue :lol - I've added records from many, MANY different sources, like:

  • RYM lists
  • DTF Top 50 lists
  • SputnikMusic's top albums of each genre
  • RYM's top albums of each genre
  • Best of The Year lists
  • Lots of /mu/'s essentials flowcharts (for instance, all of this is included on the list)
  • Some friends recommendations
  • DTF favs
  • Albums/Bands found through plug.dj sessions (gosh, how I miss that site  :'( )
  • Some records with nice covers found on What Album Are You Listening To?
  • Essential trip-hop, essential electronic music, and essential Japanese music lists
Lots were added knowing I wouldn't really like them, but who knows - never expected to like Welcome to Sky Valley, for instance, yet I'm digging it a lot.

Oh, do I? Didn't notice, honestly :lol

I was tempted to post a little part of the writeups later today, but dunno if I'll end up doing so. We shall see.

Doooooooo eeeeeeeet.........

I was about to discard that idea, but then this inspired me:

A bit of a pity nobody sent me black metal tho. Anyways, already listened to Ev's song, so here they are all, in random order:

Well this is pretty nice. I dig the combination of robotic vocals with the real ones...

This has some nice acoustic layering, and I like his voice, how intimate it all feels.

So after checking like half of these guys' discography, and not really digging it, I kinda liked this album so added it to the list to check it later. But forgot to do so lol. This is definitely the best [band] song I've heard so far...

The fuck is this :lol

Nice electronics? The melodies aren't that good tbh.

I guess this one is a grower. Goes places, yes, but seems a bit unfocused.

Better than most power metal I've heard at least.

Well this is not what I expected. This song is a bit weird, atonal at times, and pretty dark. Yet it doesn't appeal me that much...

Tbh, although I have listened to little [band], I definitely prefer their instrumental pieces...

Well, I really dig those vocal harmonies throughout the song. It has some epic moments too. Yup, I'm quite digging this piece.

But man, this is just pure fun, and some excellent joyful stuff.

It has an interesting dark circus vibe I quite dig tho.

I dig this one quite a lot, yet my complaint is that on the second half he does some weird noises/screams that turn me off a bit.

I actually expected a heavier song, but instead this is a... ballad? I really dig the atmosphere and the electronic sounds...

Nothing wrong with the song, is short and catchy, and does its job well. I feel it's a tad bit too short tho.

I read this and thought to myself this must be mine, then I read this:

Most likely the last one.

Reading a lot of negative/meh stuff tho so I think I did alright on this one
