Alright, I'll guess I'm prepared to give it a go to see if I can get you to like something!
And if spirit's a sign,
Then it's only a matter of time

I'll read thru the rules v. soon but just rsvp'ing a resounding yes to your sexy request

EDIT:  at first I was like '10 rounds, 5 of which have to be from your goddamned list?' but then I was overwhelmed by the sheer nerdy overkill of said list.  Quite a few of the entries are favourites of mine, and some I know like the back of my hand...  I think I'll have some fun with this.

Crap, you invited seneca? For a second I thought I had a chance of winning.

I'm just reading your "taste manifesto".

I'm 100% with you on '80s production, revolting, and a massive hindrance. It's like everyone forgot how to make music sound good for 10-12 years. Even without it though, the '80s are mostly a write-off of a decade - you can listen to albums from 1978 and 1979 and not only were only shite bands appearing, but you can hear the zeitgeist transforming all the good ones from the '70s into shit too. And that situation holds like a spell until about 1989.

BUT with all that said - if there's anything to take away from the decade, it's pop. Coming from someone who is really not fussed on the 80s, or pop very much, the '80s were basically the golden age of pop.

I would've never joined this roulette if not for an unfortunate fact I won the previous installment of this madness. Our tastes are so not a match these days it's ridiculous.

Anyway, I'm in, if only to try and defend my crown!

I have five songs I'll send, but they're pretty obscure and I doubt anyone will cockblock me on those, so I'm going to send five songs from your list first. I don't think it'll go well though - even though you have albums like Rainbow - Rising on your list, I can't imagine you'll like any of those six songs.

Also, if I'm dead last after those five rounds I'm going to send you loads of cheesy metal instead of the good songs I've prepared.

Mike, I think you were in invited persons list so I don't think you have anything to worry about.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Sure!

Well, I guess it depends on the artist, but I would be very careful when going with 80s pop - I once had an intership for two months at a lab, 3 daily hours, where they had this radio playing mostly 80s pop hits. Gosh, no. Those are among the very few things I actually hate with passion  :lol

even though you have albums like Rainbow - Rising on your list, I can't imagine you'll like any of those six songs.
If anything, I think Stargazer is an excellent track, and would rate it like 4/5 or so. But of course it's banned  :P

What, you don't think the lyrics are cheesy?
I don't care about lyrics in general, so unless you send me something completely awful lyric-wise, it shouldn't affect the score. Plus, Stargazer rocks  :metal

Ok I've at least skimmed the list a bit... This is going to be interesting. I'm going to send you some of my favorites and hope that you like. I'm going to try to stick with the list at least at first. Now, what to send first.... Idk what direction to go lol.

Sorry for answering so late, I had guests over and no time to read through that list. I just skimmed the first half, and I'm pretty certain I'll find something to send.

Who knows, maybe I won't lose by not even half a point this time :P.

10 rounds and 15 participants, I shouldn't have sent such a short song, I have just the perfect 10:30 song for you in round 2 :neverusethis:

Oh right, it was you who I competed against in the finals! I've sent Telegraph Road by Dire Straits and you sent something by dredg. I actually remember that now. You can have your revenge now... or not. :P

(don't let this discourage you from giving me a perfect score in the Championship roulette)

Anyway, I'll send something in a few days, probably Friday when I don't have to worry about work. Is that alright?

Yeah, no problem. The roulette will officially start  around Thursday/Friday, or whenever I finish my top 50 list, so take your time :P
