Oceans of Slumber and Ne Obliviscaris were great last night. It was in a tiny venue and they probably played to like 120 people max!! Tickets were really cheap, it's a shame they didn't pull a bigger crowd.
So the opening band was a local band who were ok but did this really weird squatting/headbanging thing where the two guitarists and bassist did it in sync. They all looked a bit like they were taking a shit on stage, it was kinda ridiculous and I couldn't help laughing!!
OoS blew them out of the water. Seriously, their singer mesmerized everyone there. She just oozes sex and brings a totally different vibe to any metal band I've ever listened to. They also did a Type O Negative cover which was cool. Their drummer was also on top form
After their set the whole band were at their Merch stand and everyone pretty much flooded around them. They made quite a few new fans I would say.
Ne Obliviscaris, for me, weren't as good as OoS. They sounded great and the set was good I was just so taken by OoS that it was a tough job to follow. Was a good show in all and I'd definitely see both again. Good time had by all. The three friends I went with all became OoS fans on the spot, and we all agreed (including my female friend) that the singer was the sexiest human alive
