Baltimore Orioles general manager Dan Duquette says the fans have spoken and they don't want free agent Jose Bautista.

"We told (Bautista's) agent that we are not interested because our fans don't like him," Duquette said on Sportsnet Radio 590 the Fan Wednesday morning. "Our fans don't like Jose Bautista, with good reason."

Assuming he's telling the truth and not just creating some entertaining quotes he should be immediately fired. Any GM who is influenced by fans has no business being a GM.

I mostly agree. I dislike never getting to enjoy a World Series win (or appearance) much more than I dislike Bautista.

Yes. I was reading about that earlier. I think it's a good move. He's a solid hitter and should bring some production to the DH spot. He has hit over 20 home runs per year for almost every year in his career. The same holds true for driving in 90+ runs a year. He's a career .303 hitter. Obviously his better numbers came when he was in Colorado, but he still put up good numbers in St. Louis.

As a longtime Cardinals fan, Matt Holliday remains probably my least favorite Cardinal ever. Have never liked the guy at all.

You have to be strictly talking 'baseball' wise because what he's done charity wise and with his personal time around StL is incredible. And he's done it all without drawing public attention to it.

I can understand if your talking straight baseball wise though....for as good as he is/was....I could never fully hop on board the Holliday train. It started with that horrific effort/non catch in LA in the playoffs years ago that hit him square in the balls and cost us that series.

He was a solid member of the Cardinals for years.  You can nitpick on him for a few things but he really pushed the team forward and carried a lot of weight.

One of his best plays though was getting injured for Games 6 and 7 of the 2011 WS though, with him in the lineup we would've lost

I will admit I never forgave him for that Dodgers game.  Not just dropping the ball that would have ended the game, but looking at three strikes in the first inning with the bases loaded and none out (after he was brought in to protect Pujols, and does that in his first postseason AB with us).
