In the near future, ordering and pre-order information for different packages will be coming out. Because there will be different outlets in different countries and such, I thought it best to have a single thread for all that information so it does not get lost in the main thread. Info will be posted here as it becomes available.

Please do not clutter the thread with other off-topic discussion. There are plenty of other threads for that. Thanks.

'The Astonishing' will be available in a range of distinctive formats, including standard 2-CD set, 4-LP vinyl box set and a limited edition deluxe box set. The limited edition box set (limited to 4000) contains a screenplay, a poster, a map, trading cards, and a 3D figure of a NOMAC, as well as the 2-CD album, all housed in a special box. For the ultimate bundle, it looks like the CDs will arrive on January 29, with the rest of the boxset not coming until March.

Worst thing about a 200 dollar boxset bundle is the import tax that will be added to that. Maybe a couple of the box sets will make it to stores.

Where do you live? The box set isn't US only - if you click the link it ought to take you to your local online retailer for it (ie, I am in the UK, so when I click it, I see it to buy in £).

^ I was just able to checkout using PayPal.

It looks like both the CDs and Vinyl have a release date of 1/29, with only the limited box set itself having a release date of 3/25.

I'm okay with that. The box set arrival should help to get me "re-excited" about the album as the European tour draws to a close (and we hopefully get some US dates).

I really wanted the Vinyl but can't really afford £70 just now. . .

I'll stick with the CD "bundle" with the FLAC download. ( so I don't get arrested for putting my own CDs on my iTunes

Ouch, after tax and shipping, the ultimate box set came to $225.

It looks like it'll be worth it though. The goodies this time make complete sense, and completely eclipse the offerings in the last two album box sets.

I'm already having (just a little) buyer's remorse after realizing I basically paid $75 extra over the cost of the limited edition box set just for the album on vinyl. While this sure beats the $99 that is being asked for just the vinyl on its own, it still feels like a lot of money.

The casing for it looks amazing though.

I'm not too big on the whole collecters item stuff, even though this all looks very cool. I'm gonna stick with the 2 CD set, can't complain about over 2 hours of music for 20 bucks.

Pricing structure is interesting. Self titled digital download: $10.99. Astonishing/double album: $9.99. Not that I care about the price, as around ten bucks for a DT album is just fine by me, but I'm curious if the $1.00 difference is something thats temporary.

Yep, that. I'll get the standard 2CD set and that's about it.

(the real reason is that I ordered the exclusive deluxe edition of Avantasia new album coming out in January, but anyway)

This same thing happened on another site.

I chose to pay with PayPal then it said my order had been placed but I didn't put in my PayPal details and now my cart is empty and no emails...
