Time for a drink. Who's in?
« on: November 14, 2015, 01:42:18 PM »
Grilling in cold weather and a jam session later to flesh out the beginnings of a new band. Drinking is under way. Yuengling lager for starters. What's in your glass tonight?

Really jealous of that Yuengling. They don't sell those out here in the west coast.

Tonight i'll be sipping on some Makers Mark

Seconded here. Usually stick with a 312 here though. I might grab some vodka and lemonade when I start a game with friends.

We have only been able to get Yuengling up here for a little over a year. Everytime we went to Florida, I'd always bring back a couple cases.
A few years ago, we went to the Yuengling brewery.

Mmm, Ranger. I sort of find NB overrated as far as local spots go, but I do dig that IPA. I had the Goose Island Gillian tonight, which was quite yummy. And now I'm not drinking til Friday because I overdid it this weekend on free film festival alcohol :lol

From a local brewery,
Belt and Suspenders IPA.

Very good crisp and citrusy IPA!!!

I always end up getting the pick your own 6 pack at various places around Chicagoland to try new beer.

I do the same. Great way to try a lot of new stuff. What's a mix-a-six run you? Here, it's usually around $12.

Usually $10.

There's a place not far from me that let's you take any beer from any 6 pack and make your own. It ends up being more expensive, but the selection is much bigger and so you can get a nice 6 pack that way. I only do that once in a while (i.e. badge hunting :lol)

I think the good doctor won this thread (despite making a Manhattan with bourbon instead of rye  ).

Craft beer has become the in thing down here so we're flooded with local stuff. Sadly, the only thing anybody wants to make is IPA. If you just want a damn pilsner you're very definitely SOL.
