I had a couple of Heinekens last night but was too exhausted to take my laptop out and post it. Heineken doesn't taste the same anymore. After drinking so many different obscure beers, going back to Heineken made it taste like a Budweiser.

I am ashamed to admit that I drank a Coors Light recently.  Although, I will say that pouring it out of the can and into a solo cup did slightly improve the flavor of it.

That's not something a man generally mentions in public. I commend you on your coming out.

LOL, the keg of Yuengling ran out and it was what we had left in the fridge (for guests).  Fortunately, I've replaced the keg and all is well.

Yuengling is a good beer for kicking back and pounding down a few. I usually grab Stella when I want to do that. Unfortunately, the deli near me didn't have any so I was stuck grabbing a six of Heineken.

Yep, that's why there's always some in the kegerator.  I don't like to ever be stuck without it on hand.  Then I resort to drinking stuff like CL or water.  Unacceptable.

Heineken tastes so much better in Amsterdam than in the US

I don't know why, for some reason, that reminds me of the scene in National Lampoon's European Vacation, where Clark's on the plane, asks the stewardess for a Coke and she asks if he'd like it in the can, and he says "Nah, I'll take it right here."

I've heard that before.

There's a picture of JP drinking a Heineken after a show at the Heineken Hall on my page. Pretty cool.

I find myself drinking a lot less in my early middle age.  When I do, Stella Artois is usually my beer of choice.  Unless I really want to be extravagant and spring for Duval's.  Unfortunately, the package store I used to buy get it went out of business, and I don't see it sold anywhere very often, though I do see it at restaurants once in a while.

Drinking a bottle of Stella as I type.  No metallic aftertaste here.

I agree with the previous poster about Heineken.  It used to be my favorite beer before I had been exposed to beers of greater quality than Bud, Miller, Red Dog, etc.  After having Stella, Duval, and some others, it has certainly fallen down a few notches.

Nice... The Glenmorangie 10 is one of my favorites - and highly inexpensive.

King, I'm afraid the strength of my beer collection isn't very good. I have a six pack of Sam Adams Winter Lager in my bar fridge. I'll probably have one while waiting for the Turkey to cook. I need to get some pointers from you and my Son-in-law about good beers.

[edit] I quite liked Kolsch when we were in Koln, Germany last month. We drank a shitload of it too. I can't seem to find any of it here though. I'm told that they don't export much of it. [/edit]

It's all personal preferences really.   I'm into big beers with high alcohol.   There's a craft to those.  Some ipa's would blow your mind but you have to travel to get them and I do.

So, Mrs. P had 3/4 can of Pear Nectar left over from making a Cranberry-Pear pie. I decided to make Pear-Pomegranate Mimosas.

1 oz Pomegranate Liqueur
1 oz Monopolowa Vodka
.5 oz Citron Orange Liqueur
5 oz pear nectar

Shake over ice until chilled. Half fill a wine flute with the mixture. Top off with Moscato.

Damned yummy!

I really enjoy Stella but the downside is that I can go through a six pack in about an hour. It's too easy to drink.

I just started with the Heinekens again since I have a few left over with the other night. Later on, I'll be drinking wine by the bottle.
