Johnnie Walker Black Label......neat.

EDIT - Never had it until I bought my first bottle two weeks ago.   If I had the money, I think I'd be toying with the idea of becoming a Scotch guy.   But the price point on decent Scotch is a bit beyond my means.    But this is really good.

So apparently 2 screwdrivers, 2 tequila sunrises, and one glass of vanilla whiskey means I can't play NHL 18. Who knew that being drunk takes away all coordination needed to win a virtual hockey game?

Having a mostly local beer night. An IPA and a double IPA from Magnify, a brewery fairly close to my house, a tripel from Logsdon Farmhouse Ales in Oregon (the outlier), and now an imperial milk porter from Kane (a great brewery in central NJ).

In. Had an Allagash Tripel while out at dinner, and now I'm home on the couch drinking a homebrewed saison. It's been way too long since I've had homebrew on tap. Will probably get a beer when I go to see Spiderman in a few as well :hat

Cheap beer on the deck, in the sun, lazing around (Blobbing).

Scotch is worth the investment (imo). At least once treat yourself to a 12-year old single malt. Put it on your birthday or xmas list.

In with some nice beers past days, mostly pilsners and IPA's, in Prague. I can't get over how cheap beer is here, you can get half a liter of a decent craft beer from tap for slightly over 1 euro.

What is a good scotch that you would recommend for a new drinker?

Depends what you want / are in the mood for.  Something peaty (smoky)?  Softer/sweeter?  Citrus?  Here's a good article on the flavors of Scotch - https://flaviar.com/sample-tastingset/scotch/premade-five-flavours-of-scotch

Personally, I think a very good - and reasonably priced - bottle is Glenmorangie 10.  Still one of my favorite go-to bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Very fruity and thick. Rich notes of lemon, nectarine and apple. Spices.

Palate: Fresh and balanced, vanilla. Boiled sweets, very creamy, tiramisu, toffee.

Finish: Quite long, gentle, malty and very fruity
