Write-ups are a little short this time, but I didn't want to keep you guys waiting any longer.

RESULTS

Train of Naught: Arctic Monkeys - When the Sun Goes Down
This sounded vaguely familiar, but I wasn't completely sure if I'd heard it before, so I let it go. I was pretty lukewarm on it, honestly. It;s got some good catchy parts, but overall I don't think it's super special. I think I don't really connect with the vocals that much. They just seem kind of average.
Grade: 6.5

Scorpion: Grayceon - War's End
This was way different from anything you've sent this far. It had some really interesting guitar parts, but as a whole it didn't really connect with me. It just felt like it dragged on a little too much, and wasn't aside from a few nice moments wasn't all that memorable. Again, it definitely wasn't bad, and I liked quite a bit of it, but overall it was just kind of decent.
Grade: 6.5

Sacul: Refused - New Noise
This was one of those ones where I really liked the music, but the vocals weren't really my thing. They weren't bad, but I felt the song had the potential to be much better with some better vocals. Musically, though, it was solid. Nothing to nitpick there.
Grade: 7

Splent: Worlds - Little Lens
Definitely getting a Rush vibe from this song, especially in the vocals, which were very good by the way. I really liked most of the guitar lines, especially in the middle section about a minute or so in. The only complaint I have is not actually about the song itself, but the recording had a bunch of skips in it that bugged me. Pretty good stuff.
Grade: 7

Tyrias: Arkasia - The Awakening:
I don't listen to a whole lot of dubstep, but this was a lot better than most of what I've heard. The music itself was really good and I enjoyed it a lot, but I thought the vocal samples were kind of annoying at times, and I wish the whole thing was just the musical parts.
Grade: 7

Parama: Intronaut - Fast Worms
So far your heavy stuff has done pretty well, and this is no exception. I didn't think it was quite as good as some of the previous tunes, but it had a lot of cool stuff. Solid riffs, good vocals, etc. There were a few times where I felt they were being complicated for the sake of being complicated, but it wasn't enough to really make a difference in my enjoymenet of he song.
Grade: 7.5

Senecadawg: Marillion - Man of a Thousand Faces
I've only heard Sugar Mice by Marillion (I liked it a lot), and I've been meaning to check them out more. This song pretty much exceeded all my expectations... until the ending, which I wasn't too big on. Kind of a shame, really, cause I was digging the first 5 minutes, but the end just wasn't my thing. Still a good song, and I'll definitely be checking more out.
Grade: 7.5

Shadow Ninja: Landon Tewers - Findlay
This was... powerful. Like damn. It was quite the unique song, too. Not sure if I've ever really heard anything like it. This song was all about the mood, which was extremely dark, and the spoken words did a great job of portraying that. Very interesting song.
Grade: 8

STANDINGS
1. Splent - 44
1. Shadow Ninja - 44
3. Senecadawg - 43.5
4. Parama - 42.5
5. Train of Naught - 42
5. Sacul - 42
7. Scorpion - 41.5
8. Tyrias - 40.5

Lots of moving around in the standings, but I guess that's what happens when first and last are separated by 3.5 points

Ok, you guys have been good about not sending too much prog/metal, and the stuff you did send was pretty good, but this round I'm gonna ban all prog/metal and see what you guys come up with.
Happy Holidays!

Well crap. Yeah that recording sucked. The quality was bad. I didn't have access to my computer to send you a better version though. If I were to send you a better quality version would my score go up? ;)

Nevermind the experimenting, sent my very first roulette song ever, ah the memories..  :metal

Early Christmas presents? Still waiting on them, I don't consider a 6.5 to be a present.

Sorry sorry sorry. For some reason I actually have a lot of homework on the first week of the term, so that's the cause of the delay. Hopefully I can get results up in the next day or two.

Parama: Esben and the Witch - No Dog
I really liked the beginning of this one, but once it slowed down and the vocals came in it was just kind of "ok". I liked the guitar and drums alot, they were definitely the highlight for me. Overall, this is kind of a classic "good but not great" song.
Grade: 6.5

Sacul: Swans - Lunacy
I really liked the intro to this song, it was really dark and brooding. I wasn't that big on the vocals, and the "Lunacy" part went on a little long, but otherwise this was a good song, with some pretty unique aspects to it.
Grade: 6.5

Tyrias: Bilderbuch - Spliff
This was a pretty fun song. Very laid back and chill atmosphere to it. The bass was probably my favorite aspect, as it was pretty funky. Quite an enjoyable tune.
Grade: 7

Scorpion: Extreme - Take us alive
After seeing the name Extreme, I was like "Dude, this was the no metal round!". But then the music started and it was most certainly not metal. This was a different style, but it reminded me a lot of Tyrias' song, in that it was really laid back and fun.
Grade: 7

Shadow Ninja: Rise Against - Hero of War
I've heard a couple Rise Against songs, and honestly I was never a big fan. However, I'd never heard an acoustic song from them before, and I was pleasantly surprised as it turned out to be a lot better than I expected. Nothing super special, but definitely an enjoyable song to listen to.
Grade: 7.5

Splent: Brand X - Born Ugly
I'm a huge Genesis fan, and I always knew Phil Collins did some other projects, but I never actually listened to any of them. That was a mistake, cause this is some good stuff. Really nice groove going throughout the song, with Phil consistently showing why he's one of my favorite drummers. There were a couple times where I felt the song lost a little focus, but overall I really enjoyed it.
Grade: 8

Train of Naught: Rival Sons - Keep on Swinging
Yeah, this definitely had a throwback classic rock kind of vibe, although with a little modern twist to make it it's own thing. Really fun, energetic song with some solid vocals and a great guitar solo. Really good stuff.
Grade: 8

Senecadawg: Sufjan Stevens - Fourth of July
I think you got the wrong holiday here, buddy :lol. In all seriousness, this song was pretty powerful stuff. Loved the melancholic atmosphere. Not a whole lot else to say, but I really like this one.
Grade: 8

Only a difference of 1.5 between first and last this round.

STANDINGS
1. Splent - 52
2. Shadow Ninja - 51.5
2. Senecadawg - 51.5
4. Train of Naught - 50
5. Parama - 49
6. Sacul - 48.5
6. Scorpion - 48.5
8. Tyrias - 47.5

OK, I honestly have no idea what round it is (I think it's gotta be like 6 or something), but since I've been slacking a lot recently I'll go ahead and call this the final round, so time to pull out all the stops, as this is still anyone's game. The round will be open too. Good luck and may the best man win!

No matter what I do, there will always be a senecadawg above me in the results, albeit with the same score.

Glad you liked it, this song apparently does very well.

Will have to think about this for a while, I'll need a 10/10 to have a shot at this.

EDIT: Sent the best song of 2015

BTW how will you deal with a potential tie? It's pretty likely with the top 3 only being separated by 0.5 points
