It just seems a bit too eratic for me, but that's only on an initial listen.  I'll go into it again knowing what to expect and see what happens.

Oh... giddy-fucking-up.

Quote from: Serenity FB page

Just really digging into this band lately, so this is nice and timely.

The quote and cover give off a more power metal feel to me.

I played half of the new Subsignal in my car today.
I was pretty surprised how much I was liking it.
It sounds a lot more dynamic that I remember from the previous albums.

Fuck I'm pumped for this.  This one is amazing, what an incredible track.  Slightly less growls too if some of you dare to check it out.  I'm anticipating this as much as Freefall and VP!

Yeah, it´s out today!

Really good stuff, it´s a very "song-oriented" prog metal band, solid stuff.

I'm listening to that Waken Eyes track.  The music is awseome, but the vox don't do much for me.  He's good, but heard it all before.

Probably the weaker link, but it didn´t bothered me. Of course, if they had Russell Allen singing it would take the music to another level.

Absolutely.  He's got a good voice and all, but a distinct voice like that would be epic.

Pretty nice.  Great sound and atmosphere.  Reminds me of Ne Obliviscarius with some Green Carnation, Novembre or Katatonia or something, not bad.

So I stumbled upon this band on Youtube today. I love it. Might order it growls and all. The music is spectacular, and the growls are very low in the mix, almost used exclusively as atmosphere.  They are more Fields Of The Nephilim-ish than outright in your face.
Even made a note of this for Wolfking's roulette.

Did a search on DTF and found these posts.

Didn't see them originally.

J Boy, I'm with you on growls but give this a shot.

I can handle some growls, so if you're good with them, I invariably will be.  Hopefully I remember to check these guys out in a couple of weeks.

Tim has obviously been  :hat :hat ..............next he'll be liking Winger , Hoekstra and Savatage.  Oh wait  ;D

I suppose I should check out Enshine  ,but I am going to be stubborn and stick more with JJ on this.  Unless growls are used very sparingly , it's pretty much all over for me.

EDIT :  I checked out a couple of tracks ........not something that interests me .  The music is decent enough but , like plenty of the artists in this style, I think I would rather listen to it without the vocals altogether........it would work okay as an atmospheric metal instrumental album.

Listening right now.... I'm stunned you could get thru this Tim.   :omg:  I'm mostly enjoying it musically, but through 2 tracks, there have been virtually no clean vox.  I might have to check older releases, because the way you describe the growls as low in the mix is NOT what I'm listening to right now.
