Ash vs Evil Dead
« on: July 18, 2015, 11:46:01 AM »
Surely I can't be the only one who is excited beyond words for this tv-show? :D
I love the original Evil Dead trilogy (the remake was alright, but not as good as the classics), and recently a trailer dropped for the tv-show, which looks to be following in the spirit of Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness, and it looks glorious!

First trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unnLg1TPCYM

It's been out for a week or so, surprised nobody had started a thread but here we go.

I've been super excited for this show since it was announced, and the trailer was everything I hoped it would be and more. I can't wait! :tup

Just watched the first episode and it was groovy.  :hat You could tell Raimi directed this episode, and I really enjoyed it. Can't wait for next week!

Not a horror fan, haven't even watched the original but I like Bruce so I couldn't say no. It was awesome, looking forward to more episodes.

That lived up to my expectations. A great first episode. It captured the cheesy gory fun of the original movies well, and I already like most of the new characters (and can't wait to see more Lucy Lawless). Bruce Campbell is always awesome, but this is Bruce Campbell at his most Bruce Campbell.

Second episode was just as good as the first, although I want more Xena! So much cheesy gore and humour. I love it.

I just watched the first two episodes. Fantastic!

Yeah this show is really great and deserves more attention. Considering how much fans a show like The Walking Dead has, surely there is an appetite for the horror genre (even if this is slightly more comedic) and the deadites is a great "take" on the zombie, being more of a possession.

Combining the original cheese factor and style with modern production value standards feels so off at times which makes it even more stupid fun to watch. :lol

Greetings...

This show is awesome! Totally worth checking out. I live in Ash's spiritual center. That is some obscure shit.

I just finished watching the season finale. That episode was a little hard to watch, quite brutal. I think the first couple of episodes were the strongest, but overall still a good season. I can't wait to see what happens next.

As a side note, the two Australian chicks in the last few episodes were both from a local soapy called Home and Away, so it was amusing to see them both pop up here. Obviously neither of them were hired for acting ability, but people in that show spend half of their screen time in bikinis on the beach anyway, which is what matters.
