You mean you THINK ARoP sucks...

I know the perception of this song is divided, but there are a lot of us who DO like it, and would maybe even want them to play it once in a while.

I don't even mind the be-bot thing that much, but it would be better if it was shorter.

AROP live would be awesome.

Why can't they just capture MP and tie him to a wall of something and force him to do backing vocals, and if he refuses, they just force beer down his throat. I don't know how would AROP sound without him.

First one seems to have better production and polish on the sound, but second one is a much bigger venue and entertaining to watch. Would love to this song make a return! :metal

I'd like to hear the ending of PMU for once.

The BC&SL DVD was something I was looking forward to have.
Because all shows in that tour were very short, they were not capable of showing a lot of what they had at the time, and there were a lot of songs that were left without proper justice.

My setlist would be something like this...

1.- A Nightmare to Remember
(James says hi, and ends with "let's go back to this one from Octavarium!")
2.- Never Enough
3.- Prophets of War
4.- A Rite of Passage
5.- Misunderstood (Shortened mess section, bringing the song duration to about 7:30 mins, flowing into TGD)
6.- The Great Debate
8.- Wither
9.- Take the Time
(Intermission) First act: 1 hour 12 mins aprox
10.- The Glass Prison
11.- This Dying Soul
12.- The Root of All Evil
13.- Repentance
14.- Keyboard Solo (At the end, everyone bursts in)
15.- The Shattered Fortress

17.- The Best of Times (Awesome Petrucci Solo

---Encore---
18.- The Count of Tuscany

The whole show would last nearly 2 hours and 44 minutes, which is about the same as other live DVD.

You know? Been a while since I wrote this, and I actually like this more than I did back then. Maybe now I'd leave the Misunderstood mess section full, I've grown to appreciate it more since then.

Maybe a dedicatory show to MP's father would have been a nice DVD, with this setlist, sadly it never happened, and probably it will never happen.

Love that setlist as well (Personal indifference for The Great Debate aside), but I find a bit anti-climatic to play The Best of Times after the AA saga... the set should end with The Shattered Fortress, I see The Best of Times more as a first encore song.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

That would be like... the longest encore ever at more than half an hour lol.

But still awesome. Yeah, have TBOT as Encore 1, ending with TCOT.
TGD could be changed, I personally added it because I fucking love this song.

Damn right, killer song, I remember the times where I rated TGD the worst SDOIT song.. never again.

Its too bad they will never play TBOT live, its too much connected to Portnoy.

I just wish we could see JP playing that solo, one of the most epic solos I ever heard

They could tag it onto another song that would transition smoothly.

Then again, that seems to have been a Portnoy thing too.

In the DVD/CD tracklist, the entire AA would have been a single track, that's a Portnoy thing. Coffcofftransatlanticwhirlwindoff

I think the 30th Anniversary set would have been a bit smoother going backwards chronologically (and with a few tweaks - adding songs not on a DVD where applicable):

1. Behind the Veil
2. Outcry
3. Wither
4. Prophets of War
5. Never Enough
6. Honor Thy Father
7. Misunderstood
8. Through Her Eyes
9. Hell's Kitchen
10. ACOS: I. The Crimson Sunrise/II. Innocence
11. Caught in a Web
12. Take the Time
---encore---
13. Only a Matter of Time
I don't want MP playing with DT unless they were making a drummer change. If they let MM go and bring back MP, then fine, but no guest appearance please.
WELP.

Cut five minutes of ANTR, and get rid of TGD, every 12 step song except 'Root', and TBOT.  Couldn't imagine James wanting to sing all those 12 step and syrupy dad lyrics.  After 'Misunderstood', I'd leave for a couple of drinks until Take The Time, and then get snockered until 'Tuscony' (and even that was boring as heck until the final 10 minutes).  IMHO....

Oddly, the only time I've ever left the arena for a drink (two) was during 'The Shattered Fortress' during their last USA tour.
...going along with Dragon Attack's Queen thread has been like taking a free class in Queen knowledge. Where else are you gonna find info like that?!
