I want to understand the love for The Silent Man, I really do, but I just don't get it,. Also, it probably has to do more with the hate for Honor thy Father than the love for The Silent Man.

Yeah matchups. $:\$ IMO, that's an anomaly.

You have a #3 seed hate metal song against a #14 seed ballad? Of course most people will vote for the ballad. They are two completely different types of songs.

I don't think that people voted for The Silent Man because it's a ballad and Honor Thy Father is a metal song. That is too simplistic.

It's just a matter of matchups. In the voting/seeding process, Honor Thy Father got enough votes (somehow) from its matchups there to get the number three seed, while TSM only wound up with a fourteen seed due to the particular matchups it faced. Some matchups you win, some matchups you lose, for all songs.

This particular matchup? More people voting in the tournament like TSM better than HTF than the other way around. No more, no less.

What Hef said. Also, even though it's a ballad versus a metal song, it's also a 4-minute song versus a 10-minute song. You might expect the prog forum to be more inclined to go for the 10-minute song. Ultimately, though, it comes down to the fact that more voters simply prefer The Silent Man.

A lot of people DO love it, hence why it earned enough votes in previous rounds to get that high seed.

People voting in this round just tended to think TSM is a better song.

If HTF deserves to be the Division 3 Champion, it should be able to beat all the songs in Division 3. It clearly can't beat The Silent Man (or even come particularly close), so it does not deserve to the be Division 3 Champion.
