Kobe's an all-time great, and it will be weird to see him gone for good.

In my opinion, his career arc has been one of the strangest ever. With most guys, their career looks like a bell curve: Learn the ropes early, play their best ball from 25 - 29, and then fade off after 30. Kobe had most of his team success as a young gun, played on terrible teams during his "prime", and won his lone MVP after 30, I think. Just a weird timeline, especially for a player of his caliber.

Things are pretty frikking scary around these parts, most of my friends are on a razors edge as the Dubs keep piling up the wins. Gonna be interesting to see the reaction when and if they do lose.

I don't know about the Warriors, they haven't won a single game when scoring less than 100 points.

I want the Dubs to keep winning for as long as they could. I want to see history being made, and records to be broken this season!

We all know any winning streak would end sooner or later, and it looks like the Dubs' would end tonight at the Bucks. They just look tired in this final game on a long 7-game road trip. I wanted to see history, but oh well...  :hat

I don't think their wins from last season should count towards this season's winning streak...

anyone else agree?

I think technically they might be two separate records(overall regular season wins between 2 different seasons, and then one only for this regular season), but yea in general I agree it's pretty lame...especially to use the former to make the streak sound more impressive than it is IMO.

Don't get me wrong.  24-0 to start out the season is incredible  :tup

They don't count towards this season's winning streak; they count towards their overall consecutive games won in the regular season winning streak.

The dubs finally showed us who they really are.  I predict they won't even make the playoffs.  And if they do, they are out in the first round for sure.

Oh, sorry.  I was channeling mrct for a second there.

I seriously hope the Warriors win 73 games and win the title, just to annoy the MJ honks who love to discredit any player who someone has the nerve to compare to the Untouchable MJ.

And if they begin approaching the record, MJ himself will surely come out with a salty quote roughly saying "Dubs couldn't hang with us in the 90's.  They're taking advantage of a weak league."

It was never fear the deer so much as it was fear the 2nd game of a back to back to wrap up a long road trip where the front end of the back to back was a game that went into double overtime.

I hate excuses like this.  the Bucks played the night before as well, and playing 2OT is a whopping 10 extra minutes of basketball.  the Bucks played better and won.

with that being said, its still an embarrassing loss for the Bucks at LA.

So, what the hell is going on this season around the league?
Other than the Warriors, Cavs and Spurs every other team is super inconsistent and can't seem to be able to put a nice winning run. Houston and the Clippers were two teams everyone was expecting to step it up and have been struggling with their game since day 1, somehow the tables have turned and now the east has teams with a positive record that are not making the playoffs and the west has one team that is making the playoff with a negative record. It seems like there are only 3 teams contending for the title, maybe 4 since OKC is also doing a pretty good job but while the east seems better overall it also looks like Cleveland has an even bigger advantage over the rest of the teams than last year.

What are your thoughts guys?

With Irving back, the Cavs will eventually set themselves apart from everyone else in the East. While I still think the Heat will br a serious dark horse, the Cavs will be the team to beat in the East... oh, please don't try and bring the Pacers into the conversation until they actually beat the Cavs in the playoffs.

Out west though, it will be between the Dubs and the Spurs.

I do not mind a win here and there this season, as long as Kobe looks good. Just wanted to remind the Lakers our pick in '16 is only top 3 protected.  :hat

The Dubs played a horrible game (by their standard) and missing two guys, the relatively full strength Cavs still can't beat them? Embarrassing! Lol!  :lol

The difference between Kyrie right now and an in rhythm Kyrie after months of play is immense.  Same goes for Shump but obviously not same level of importance.  Cavs also played poorly missing tons of easy looks...although it does kinda seem like LBJ will never have an efficient shooting night against this Dubs team ever.  Kind of annoying seeing him go into MJ hero mode when you know he's going to shoot sub 40%.

Right now LBJ is struggling with his shooting, I don't think it's a matter of whether he's playing the dubs or not. I read a stat a couple of days ago that said he'd been shooting 28% outside of the paint during the season, that's terrible.

Of course I don't know the jersey-putting-on guy, but I would agree (within the realm of sports, being not so serious business when compared to actual real world matters), that its disgraceful IF this guy was on board with the Lakers during their recent championship contending run and has jumped ship now that the tides have turned.

I would still say "it depends."  He could just be a casual NBA fan and only follows whatever teams he likes at the moment, which would likely coincide with them doing well.  He could have been a fan of some Lakers players, but not a "dyed-in-the-wool Lakers fan," and if those players are no longer on the team, and he likes Warriors players, he is now rooting for them.  He could simply like to collect jerseys for players he likes, and the Warriors coming to town afforded the first opportunity for him to pick up a Warriors jersey at Staples.  He could be perhaps finally so put off by Kobe that continuing to root for the Lakers feels distasteful to him.  He could have just been intentionally trying to make a statement or intentionally be funny.  Any number of reasons could take it out of the "disgrace" category.  The only reason I would find him to be a "disgrace" (and I hesitate to even apply that term at all when it comes to something as unimportant as sports fandom) is if he was hardcore "Lakers 'til death! I will NEVER abandon my Lakers!," but that turned into "uh...Lakers 'til they suck and some other team catches my fancy."

All great points. Heck, he could have even lost a bet! Impossible to know the exact circumstances, but you've got writers who have to write something, so they took the clip at "face value".
